This was aired last wednesday by Channel 4 news in the hope that people around the world realise the suffering & genocide in Sri Lanka.

Doubtless the UN won't do anything.
So far no-one has been brought to justice.


The hypocricy of the UN with regards to investigating these war crimes is there for all to see. Ban Ki Moon rejected his own committee's proposal that he set up an international enquiry.
Therefore it is upto the UN secruity council to set up the enquiry. The security council unanimously voted to refer the war crimes in Libya to the international criminal court but have done absolutely nothing regarding Sri Lanka (as you can see the war crimes in Sri Lanka dwarf anything that went on in Libya).



And it's not just Sri Lanka, this stuff goes on all over the world from the Congo & Sub-Saharran Africa to Latin America to South East Asia.

And please do not sympathise with the Tamil Tigers. They are equally as bad as the government. They massacre Muslims too as well as various other ethnic groups just like the government.

Both the government and Tamil Tigers are terrorists.

But I always thought the Tamil Tigers and the Indian army were bad enemies? Especially considering over a thousand Indian soldiers died in Sri Lanka and the Tamil Tigers assassinated many important Indians.

But I don't know, my knowledge on the conflict is limited.



But I do know that many foreign countries helped the government with their own terrorism.

The UK provides training for the Sri Lankan army as well as Pakistan, Malaysia, United States & Australia.

Also the Isaeli army provides the bombs and aircraft as well as providing 'expertise' for counter insurgency tactics.

But the main countries that support the government militarily are China and Pakistan. They provide tanks, fighter jets, ships and missiles.

How much fake glory can you place on your army? Can you back that up with any sources? China, Pak and even India, all via their own means, assisted the SL army in finishing out the LTTE.

And some Indian Tamil sympathizers did help the LTTE initially, but there are unconfirmed reports of govt, support. Materialistic support by sympathizers had dwindled by late 80s when India sent in its peace-keeping force, and lost about a 1000 soldiers trying to bring peace to the island. And support came to zero when the Tigers assassinated Rajiv Gandhi in 1991. Since then, GoI has been strict with any Tamil sympathizers in southern India.
