    Taliban blame foreigners for blasts

PressTV - Taliban blame foreigners for blasts

Local residents gather at the overnight twin bomb blast site in Peshawar on June 12, 2011.
Taliban have denied responsibility for twin massive blasts in northwestern Pakistan, blaming foreign secret agencies for the bombings that killed 39 people.

Following the Saturday bomb attack in the northwestern city of Peshawar, the Pakistani Taliban on Sunday denied any role in the explosions.

"We did not carry out this attack in Peshawar. It is an attempt by foreign secret agencies who are doing it to malign us," AFP quoted Tehreek-e-Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan as saying.

According to police and medics, the death toll of the blasts has climbed to 39 while at least 108 others were wounded.

"Death toll has risen to 39 in the blasts as four wounded people died in hospital," senior local police official Ijaz Khan said.

He said the explosions occurred just four minutes apart at about 10:50 p.m. local time (1850 GMT) on Saturday and devastated the Khyber Super Market district which includes a hotel, shops and student accommodation.

"The first blast was quite small but as people gathered close to the site of the explosion, the second one, which was real big one, went off," he said.

Militant attacks in Pakistan have climbed as the Taliban have vowed to avenge the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who the US claimed to have killed in an operation in Pakistan on May 1.

Former officials with Pakistan's military and intelligence service say the US falsely claims it has killed bin Laden in Pakistan as part of a scheme to invade the country for harboring the terrorist leader.

    Explosion rocks area near Islamabad

PressTV - Explosion rocks area near Islamabad

A roadside bomb explosion close to the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, has left at least six people wounded and damaged several vehicles, police officials say.

The blast took place near the Malpur area just outside the city on Sunday. Residents said that they heard a large blast in the area.

"A father and his son riding a motorbike and a man travelling in a car were wounded in the blast," AFP quoted senior police official Bani Amin as saying.

The blasts come as CIA chief Leon Panetta is in Pakistan to mend ties between Washington and Islamabad.

The developments also come after twin bombings in the northwestern city of Peshawar killed at least 39 people and wounded more than 100 others.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts so far.

This is the second round of bombings in Peshawar this week. On Thursday, a bomb concealed in garbage can along a road left four people dead and several others injured.

Meanwhile, another blast has been reported at a radio station in the neighboring town of Charsadda.

Recently, there has been a surge in bomb attacks across Pakistan. Pakistani officials blame the bombings on Taliban militants.

The US invaded Afghanistan in 2001 with the official objective of curbing militancy and bringing peace and stability to the region. However, after nine years, the region remains unstable and militancy has expanded towards Pakistan.

Nearly 4,500 people have been killed in bomb attacks across Pakistan since 2007.

if it wasn't a suicide attack then it is definitely feasible that is it done by others to continue making pakistan look like it is unable to control it's own country. us private security mongrels being one possibility.

PESHAWAR: The Darra Adamkhel chapter of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the twin bombings in Peshawar Cantonment Saturday night and said some tribal elders from Khyber Agency dining at the restaurant were the target.

Commander Asif belonging to the TTP Darra Adamkhel chapter headed by Tariq Afridi, claimed responsibility for the attack in a phone call to The News correspondent in Kohat. He said nobody else but these tribal elders from Khyber Agency were the target of the bombings. However, he didn’t provide the names of these tribal elders and was unaware if they had been killed.

There was no evidence that any known tribal elder was killed in these bombings at the Khyber Super Market close to the offices of The News and Geo TV. Some sources said these tribal elders may have left the Lala Restaurant before the bombings.

Earlier, the TTP’s central spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan had phoned reporters to explain that his organization wasn’t involved in this attack. He argued that the TTP doesn’t attack public places and that its campaign of bombings targetted security forces, the police and government officials and installations. He blamed the intelligence agencies for the bombings targetting public places.

there is no such group called Darra Adam Khel TTP. I am sure there is no such person called Commander Asif, and there is no person called Tariq Afridi. this is a lie made up either by CIA or their na paki haramis

This is a failed war of aggression being waged ONLY against Pashtun Muslims on both sides by nasty secular trash, serving the US like their slave ancestors served the British Raj.
