    US President Barack Obama
On the heals of a Washington visit by the Israeli prime minister, US President Barack Obama vowed, in a televised speech intended to address recent events in the Muslim world, to persist in protecting the Israeli regime and 'counter terrorism.'

While admitting that “short-term interests may not represent the long term vision of the region,” Obama assured its regional allies in his Thursday speech that the United States will keep its “commitment to friends and partners.”

Two long-time US-backed dictators, Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and Zine El Abidine Ben Ali of Tunisia were ousted from power following massive anti-government protests. Ben Ali fled to Saudi Arabia and Mubarak has been detained and awaits trial over criminal charges against the Egyptian people.

Obama warned Palestinians that they would never gain independence by denying the Israeli regime the “right to exist,” claiming that efforts to “de-legitimize Israel” would fail.

The pro-Israeli remarks by the US president comes despite his acknowledgment that a new generation has emerged in the Muslim world demanding 'change' that cannot be denied. Recent popular protests in Middle Eastern and North African countries have included numerous expressions of anti-Israeli and anti-US feelings.

Obama also reminded Israeli officials that their status quo was “unsustainable,” and said that the Tel Aviv regime's conflict “has meant suffering and the humiliation of occupation” for Palestinians.

In conclusion, the US president said it was ultimately up to the Israeli regime and the Palestinians to hammer out a peace deal, adding that the US supported a two state solution with permanent borders based on the 1967 lines, and hinted at the prospect of “mutually agreed swap.”

According to observers and a number of published opinion poll results, most Palestinians and Muslim populations have expressed distrust of the US as an objective mediator in the Middle East, citing its unconditional support for the Israeli regime and all of its many violations against Palestinians and neighboring countries.

Israel is their ally so its natural for America to defend Israel.

This isnt something you would use for Propaganda. Plus the Muslim world doesnt see America in a favourable light, the same way the Arab world does not see Palestine in a favourable light as they are still licking the wound of defeat of their 7 days of embarassment.

What the Muslim world needs to do is accept the ideological indepdence of its members and shouldnt work to infleunce people through harmful ideologies.

Every nation should be independent. There should be no Muslim,Jew or Christian World.

Ghundal, why does everything in your eyes evolve around Muslims? Muslim is just a follower of a Faith, not a Nation or a country so its obvious they will have differences between themselves.

Agreed. Time has come to get out of the ghettos of Arab Wahabi funded extreme hatred towards Jews & Isreal. Israel is a reality and fact needs to be recognized that Jews as ethnic community have contributed more in the field of science & technology than any other community in the world.
Both Arabs & Jews need to find peace with fresh pair of eyes. Certainly Wahabi inspired ideology of Jews being Sons of Satan won't help at all. The earlier this realization dawns, the better it would be.

Israel is the illegitimate child of America so America would take care of it.
Israelis is an ungrateful nation. Palestinians gave them their land in their hard times and they kicked the Palestinians out of their homes...
Israelis should go back to their home countries.

US don't see the terrorists activities being done by the Israelis against the Palestinians. Actually the top institutions of the US is controlled by the Jews.
Their media, army, CIA, foreign policy makers, their internal politics are being controlled by the jews that is why they are protecting each others' interests.

By posting the article you want people to read it. Its a shabby assed article that missed the message of the speech. The US is distancing itself from Israel, hence the backlash from the GOP who are the worst when it comes to kowtowing to the Israeli lobby. This represents the largest break in US-Israeli policy in 10 years, yet presstv or whatever instead chose to use it as a rhetorically bankrupt attempt to take a parting stab at the myopic US foreign policy in the region. Its disingenuous, corrosive and wrong. Its basically like Fox news. Just curious Ghundal, can you even tell the difference between honest journalism and self-affirming intellectual masturbation anymore?

OBAMA HAS THROWN ISRAEL UNDER A BUS: you see the inflammatory headline from a probaly jewish controlled media outlet? all he is asking israel to do is take responsibility.
obama is probably getting angry at knowing how much he and america is controlled from israel, including trying to oust him from his presidency and has just said 'stuff em' to go at them head on.
