Makes one wonder, why India through its outlook to the world and its robust economy is expanding greatsome and its image rising and shinning that is as important for it to be a great country, Faye. What is new with Pakistan in the past courting U.S. against Afghanistan and India? For what reason is Paki-staan an ally of the U.S. and begging it for hand-outs? What is so harmful with having a legitimate interest of India in Afghanistan and pursued through legitimate means? Have they sent us terrosits, why are you at pain when the Indian hospitals and roads are making life painless for the Afghans? also 500 million usd is nothing when india spends around 30-50 billion usd per year on defence, another billion on space
also huge amount for it's new international standard airports in delhi , plus huge expenditure on infra structure for it's top cities, when no one raises issue on this matters,how do you expect people to rise issue on mere 500 dollar aid.

also all this money india spends is its own, doesn't get any donation unlike some other countries

Stop painting India with a golden brush, I have been around India from Bombay to Orissa. Rural poverty is disgusting, as is the systematic discrimination within the caste system.

Indian is doing what Pakistan did in the 90’s PUSHING ITS AGENDA and its interests. Afghanistan is the global playground for both ballistics technology and Mineral sourcing.

The Afghans again are caught up in the vicious circle, to proud or stupid to admit it.

Thats a bit unfair, Faye. India isn't hand in gloves with anybody. Its true that the American presence in Afghanistan made it easier for Indians to be there, but that doesnt mean India is scheming with the US. Apart from India there are many other countries carrying out developmental activities and it would be unfair to say that all of them are there to support the US.

India's proximity with the US has increased in recent years due to a changing geo-political and economics climate. But India is still able to make its own decisions. I'd say India is much more independent in its foreign policy than the UK or NATO. Pakistan, I can't even include in the same category.

And its evident that India has an agenda in Afghanistan. Everybody knows that. But if that agenda is achieved peacefully and the common Afghan on the ground is the beneficiary, then whats the harm. As its is, India's real test will come soon. US is going to leave the region soon and then Afghans can decide if they want Indian presence.

india uses soft power vs pakistans hard power. its this soft power that has made india many friends while pakistan is just another israel which the world despises. despite indias poverty, its growth is much stronger and led by men with vision vs pakistan stagnation and eventual collapse as a nation.
