HAILEY, Idaho -- The Taliban released new images of the Idaho soldier held captive in Afghanistan, but it appears to be a portion of the same video released months ago.Now just days after Osama bin Laden's death many fear what this means for Bowe Bergdahl.Around the soldier’s hometown, many locals said it's hard to fathom what Bowe and his family are going through. Everyone in the small town of Hailey said they have to stay positive because it's the only way they can get through this."It's been a long time and we're ready for Bowe to come home," family friend Molly Cunha said. For nearly two years this tight knit community of Hailey has rallied around Bowe and his family. They said with each video brings them hope, but to see old video now is unsettling.“It does worry me,” Cunha said. “I would like to know how he's doing now or recently. I don't know why they're doing it. Better something than nothing."Bowe's memory in Hailey is everywhere from signs hanging at the cafe where he used to work, to ribbons tied onto almost every tree, people here say they're not giving up."We're working on a new plan to refurbish the old ones, because they are getting more faded and I think right now every thing needs to be brightened up to show that our support is definitely not waning, it's increasing,"Mayor Rick Davis said. But the undeniable strain on Bowe's family is still felt through the community."It's heartbreaking,” Cunha said. “I see his dad fairly frequently and I want to give him a hug every time I see him. He's a strong guy, but you could see the sadness and devastation on his face."The mayor said the morale is still hopeful, but the uncertainty of when and if he will ever come home is the hardest part."It's an eerie feeling,” Davis said. “I'm not really sure if everyone has really thought about the consequences of bin Laden and what it could may or may not do."But for now they stand together with Bowe and won't ever give up hope. The release is the fifth since Bergdahl was captured in June 2009. The beginning portion, with Bergdahl standing beside Sangin, was released in December.Army spokesman Gary Tallman said officials are studying the video and they agree it appears to be old.
