It depends on the area you live in, but in Delhi most people keep generators and inverters as back-up. On an average in summers, Delhi gets an 1-2 hour of electricity cut.

1-2 hours cut is not that much. Right now in peshawer we are having 9-11 hours electricity cut daily.
