    Nice find -
see there the commander flat out says: no Al-Qaeda connection.

AlJazeera is hardly unbiased, but at least they are able to get that important information out to the world -
of course if anyone in America drew a line between the obvious dots, the war effort would not get its needed funding and the pressure would mount to bring the soldiers home.

A HUNDRED American soldiers DIED to secure this place [pretty as it is!]
What can their families possibly feel about the sacrifice of their relatives for such a Useless goal ?

Even if 4 or 5 died, it's way too much, any sane American would think to himself or herself.

Hope the new occupants have a comfortable and peaceful stay there....

      THE TRANSLATION IS TOTALLY FALSE.
THEY DIDNT SAY ANYTHING ABOU TMULLAH OMAR ,aL KAIDA,OR REACHING TO THE GATES OF AMERICA.

CHECK AL JAZEERA CHANNEL ON YOUTUBE,IVE PUT THE RIGHT TRANSLATION BUT YOU REALLY NEED TO SCROLL DOWN AS AL JAZEERA IS TRYING TO HIDE MY COMMENT WHICH HAS GOT OVER 30 THUMBS UPS.

What happened to Al-Jazeera and truth? Afghans don't give a crap to America. If anything, why are they lumping their Arab problem on us through the media?

The traitors who brought the Ottoman Empire down.

          Oh yeah, GYE !
I thought that "gates of America" part was invented, but forgot to mention
          it.
While watching I wondered whether you would think the translation good or not.
I remember how you explained about the glaring and really laughable
          distortions on previous Journeyman documentaries...
So I know you are busy now, you say, but if you could manage to retrieve
that comment of the real translation for this thread here,
          it would be really nice.

GOOD for YOU for putting that in and making them uncomfortable.

I saw the founder or founders of Al-Jazeera come speak at a bookstore
          and wasn't impressed much.
Sure enough the channel has never lived up expectations - by far.

          Witness THIS. Shocking.

            GYE,

how could you hear them behind the translator's loud voice?

That's what I noticed too: the producers made sure to drown out the real voice.
The translation was way more loud than necessary.
I think in the future these should be done in a way so that the
              original speaker's voice is clear.
              The translation could follow afterwards.

Clearly, they are hiding things though using excuses like the air time is too expensive.

But why air a bunch of lies ? Unless of course, the station has a political agenda
rather than one of communicating the news...

You're RIGHT, subtitles would BEST solve the problem -
I'm in shock over how that was totally invented.

Thanks SO much for the revelation, GYE, you're terrific -

What you wrote as their words rings true.
If interviewed, this is the way the guys will talk.

NOT PONTIFICATING about "we are the slaves of Mullah Omar" - in effect sounding
like the Hashashin, Assassins taking their orders from Hassan Al-Sabah....
the connotation of which, for subtler minds versed in Middle East history is
that that the Taliban are crazy fanatics willing to jump off a cliff if their leader
                    so orders....

This is tremendous that you exposed this blatant pack of lies they are propagating.
I FIGURED that Al-Jazeera was in cahoots with the powers that be in
Washington and Tel Aviv....now there is one piece of evidence.

For, this is the party line from those two capitals.

I also had noticed way earlier that Al-Jazeera was talking about the War on Terror in typical American terms and the Taliban as some nasty rebels.

That didn't sound like the way usual Arabs would view life....
