While you are correct that the Taliban wont stop until they have complete control of the country. On the other hand this movement was wiped down to almost nothing. You have to ask yourself the reasons why they came back full force and why they are so popular today. Is the Karzai government working for the afghan people's interest. Why are there warlords with criminal pasts running the government. Why are foreigners treated better than afghan citizens in their own country. Why are women raped by government officials and no one is there to protect the victims. Why are civilians bombed and no one answers for the crime. Why is the government not providing justice for its citizens. Why does the afghan citizen have to take the law into his own hands to get justice.

The afghan government and NATO forces are not facing the Taliban as its biggest adversary, the afghan government is facing its own people and its own people are demanding justice.

you need to tune up your reading comprehension. i said many of the low-ranking foot soldiers...do...not...fight...for...purely..islami c...objectives.

        do you understand now?

they are ordinary indigenous afghans that have become disheartened in one way or another by the government and NATO, thus allying with the insurgency. that doesn't mean their motives are the same as the insurgency's as a whole.

the other ignorant thing you do is generalize the entire resistance based on the actions of a very few who are not representative. the whole winning back campaign is targeted at the low ranking foot soldiers who do not have idelogical allegiance to the taliban, but have joined due to disheartenment. thse are karzai's words.

did you see any of the high ranking taliban giving in their arms and surrendering ? no... so try using your head a little next time.

If a mansion, and jacuzzi was his wish they should give it for them. I can't imagine how hard it I'd fighting ISAF in a place like Kandahar. Where every second of the day, you can be killed.

You seem to be unable to make distinctions between people who joined the Taliban because they believe in the ideology and people who joined because they oppose the Government. Even more yet the groups outside of the Taliban who are merely labeled Taliban because they fight the Government and/or U.S.

For someone who stresses not looking at things black and white, you have such a novice and frankly superficial understanding of your own homeland.

almost the kind I'd expect from a snotty gullible westerner.

And if you believe that it doesn't matter to make these distinctions and have a more nuanced and detailed understanding of the scenario; then you're as much a culprit in "your" nation's destruction.

Even though personally it makes no sense to call it "our nation" It's the British who manufactured this so called "nation" anyways.

Then your counter argument is based on equally unsubstantiated claims

You're going by what media says to you and not how things actually are on the ground.
