  • Pakhtun elected as deputy speaker

KABUL(PAN): The Wolesi Jirga, or lower house of Parliament, elected Khalid Pakhtun as deputy speaker in a second round of voting on Sunday.
The first round of election between Pakhtun, a public representative from Kandahar, and Rahila Saleemi from Panjsher produced no clear winner. Pakhtun bagged the required number of votes, more than 50 percent.
Of the 215 MPs present in a house of 249, a contestant had to get at least 108 votes for an outright victory. Pakhtun bagged 114 ballots to win the office.
Rahila Saleemi got 70 votes.Nineteen of the ballots were declared invalid and nine others were found blank
Under the relevant rules, two people could run for three times for the deputy speaker's slot. If they fail to win the required 50 percent plus one vote in the three rounds, new contenders enter the race.
Article 78 of the Constitution states: "Each of the two houses, at the commencement of their work period, shall elect one member as speaker for the term of the legislature, and two members as first and second deputies and another two as secretary and assistant secretary for a period of one year.
"These individuals shall form the administrative teams of the House of People (Wolesi Jirga) as well as House of Elders (Meshrano Jirga). Duties of the administrative teams shall be determined by the Regulations on Internal Duties of each house."

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Really? Khalid Pakhtun is a ISI spy, and a fascist?

Any proof for that? I am interested.

I'm serious. I really want to see the evidence. I know many people who claim he is the savior of Kandahar, and I would like them to see the other side of the coin.

          Looking forward to the evidence.

According to Sangar, he is a ISI slave. To spice things up, he is a Paki Hindu slave[despite hailing from Kandahar]. As of right now, you can join me Talal. We can both wait for Sangar to provide his source. If Sangar fails to provide evidence(like the majority of the time) or a authoritative source supporting his claims, he lied. And if he lied against a Muslim, I am sure that is equivalent to some sort of a sin.

Sangar, stop acting like a marching ant. I don't know Khalid Pakhtun, but I can tell you are lying already. Your track record speaks for itself. Sangar is an interesting character. He does not listen to music(good for him I guess)but he lies against Muslims. First Wrayun, now Khalid Pakhtun? Have you taken an economics course Sangar? I'm curious. I can easily tell that you singing lies is a worser sin then you singing a Pashto song. If you dislike Khalid Pakhtun, offer your rebuttal to his policies. Don't just tell us he is slave to Hindus. I must confess, it's simply childish of you. I understand many people enjoy your presence here(for entertainment purposes)but read your posts before you click that reply button. Your giving that sect that I think you follow so closely a bad name.

Please, I await a civilized response. No calling Muslims as Singhs, etc.

Sangar has a special authentic hadith which allows him to declare other Muslims Sikhs, Hindus, Kafirs, Murtads and liars without any proof and on mere emotional farts.

Sangar tactics are of a bazari mullah, like bijligaar. He makes good entertainment, although at the expensive of Islam. I can just imagine the kind of punishment waiting for people like him. Using Islam and Musalmaniyat as a tool to insult other Muslims and people. It's so sad, that in their sick, twisted minds, people like him actually think they'll be rewarded, or are doing a favor for Islam.

He claims he is a representative of "true" and "authentic" Islam, how unfortunate.

This is really good guys. The speaker is an Uzbak who is member of Hezb Islami and they don't get along with NA/Ahmed Shah Massud loyalists the root of Afghanistan's problems. No wonder Karzai happily endorsed him. This a blow for NA.
