Yes let's be organized and post all the Libyan
developments HERE for the time being
          til thread gets overweight.
It IS tidier as it allows readers to catch up on the
          progression of events
OR go right to newest news at the end if they prefer.
Probably more people will read about this important
situation THIS way than separate snippets.

I am quite interested in Libya myself, so I will appreciate
          knowing where to look.

I see your Omar Muktar avatar, GYE! Good idea !

Qaddafi trying to draw a comparison to the great
Sanussi hero of the resistance to the Italians
          is beyond imagination...

Let's all try to find time for the 2 hr. movie
GYE posted yest. Lion of the Desert.

I remember it was well made - truly a rarity in today's world.
Though I believe Qaddafi himself financed the film.
          One of his good moves.
All 4 or 5 of them...!

yes its better to drop all the latest news regarding Libya in this thread to stay updated.

dont know if Qadafi financed the movie or not but the movie has many paralels to the situation of Pukhtane in 21st century.
Anthony Quinn has done a great acting job

Yes, I can see some of the parallels. Great point.

It may have been Anthony Quinn's best role.
I recall he was also in Caravans, based on James Michener
book on Afghanistan, did you see that?
Maybe it could be found on youtube now.
