Omar Sharif Says Egypt's Future Is a Concern

    By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

    Filed at 12:37 p.m. EST
CAIRO (AP) — Omar Sharif, Egypt's most famous actor, says he's concerned for the future of his country.
Cairo's Tahrir Square, where protests have been centered, is visible from his high-rise apartment and helicopters buzz overhead.
"They want the president to step down. This is the first thing. After that, they do not know what they want," he told The Associated Press on Monday. "I personally don't know what they will do afterwards. Who will they bring, who will take his place, who will be in charge of the country?"
The protesters blame President Hosni Mubarak for widespread poverty, inflation and official indifference and brutality during his 30 years in power.
Sharif is best known for his roles in "Doctor Zhivago" and "Lawrence of Arabia."

        YES!
By the way, the film glamourizes T E Lawrence.
The real one was so awful - some believe he was a homosexual; others maintain there is no evidence for that.
From his letters, though, one can see he is some kind of really weird pervert.

Not to mention his political activities, for which I would never forgive him.

Don't forget he was stationed to Miran Shah for a time, where he was under cover
as Airshipman [something like that] Shaw. He accomplished nothing there, outwardly anyway.

A person who does not deserve having a movie made about him.
No hero was he: only one manufactured by vested interests.

The fact that anyone would waste time hearing what Omar Sharif has to say
testifies to the political clout of Hollywood in forming the opinions of millions and billions in the West and elsewhere.

Every looser says the same thing when he is at the verge of collapse.
Egypt will be the most unfortunate if it failed to produce a Leader. Otherwise they will have to share their fate with Pakistan and Afghanistan. If no Genuine Leader, then they won't have shortage of Leaders like Zardari or Karzai. US will find one for them.

they all act concerned because muslims will probably choose a honest leader which doesnt suite the needs and wishes of Israel and US as they want the pupet to stay hanging on the strings.

muslims brotherhood is the largest party and the demos have shown that people being muslims christian are once again free from the tyrant.

Yes to both of your comments.

Let's pray the right leader emerges - and quickly!
Before there is time in Washington/TelAviv [they're almost the same people, anyway] to handpick another pathetic acquiescent 'idiot' like Zardari, Dervaish is just right.

I hope the US doesn't turn to Jehan Sedat, widow of Anwar, and play the sympathy card and the women's liberation card...
