  • "If I had to choose sides today, I'd choose the Taliban,"

looks like the old man is putting up a fight.

For more than an hour, Gen. David H. Petraeus, U.S. Ambassador Karl W. Eikenberry and other top Western officials in Kabul urged Karzai to delay implementing a ban on private security firms. Reconstruction projects worth billions of dollars would have to be shuttered, they maintained, if foreign guards were evicted.
Sitting at the head of a glass-topped, U-shaped table in his conference room, Karzai refused to budge, according to two people with direct knowledge of the late October meeting. He insisted that Afghan police and soldiers could protect the reconstruction workers, and he dismissed pleas for a delay.
As he spoke, he grew agitated, then enraged. He told them that he now has three "main enemies" - the Taliban, the United States and the international community.
"If I had to choose sides today, I'd choose the Taliban," he fumed.
After a few more parting shots, he got up and walked out of the wood-paneled room.
The riposte, and the broader fight over private security contractors, prompted deep alarm among senior U.S. officials in Kabul and Washington. The Obama administration had been trying for the better part of a year to cast aside earlier disputes and make nice with Karzai. But it clearly was not working. Eikenberry told colleagues at the embassy that the relationship had hit its lowest point in years.
As President Obama and his national security team assess the war this week, a central element of the discussion will be their difficulties in building a partnership with Karzai. Despite a concerted effort by top diplomats and commanders, the United States has been unable to achieve more than ephemeral bonhomie with the Afghan leader.
"Our relationship with him has become so tortured," said a senior administration official. "We've gone from one crisis every three months to one crisis a month."
There is near-universal agreement among top U.S. officials involved in Afghanistan that Karzai's behavior and leadership have a direct bearing on the outcome of the multinational counterinsurgency mission. But they remain divided about how to improve their ties with him, and whether it is even possible.
Skeptics of the strategy contend his actions, particularly in the six months since the Obama administration started to embrace him as a partner, demonstrate that he cannot be rehabilitated. As a consequence, they maintain that the overall U.S. mission should be scaled back because it is impossible to conduct a counterinsurgency campaign without a steadfast ally in Kabul's presidential palace.

As U.S. assesses Afghan war, Karzai a question mark

Once this hollow structure of Pakis-stan's false federation collapses and Afghan geography get restored everything will settle down, because these were Pakis who brought US to this region for their ulterior motive of occupying Azad afghanistan through their proxies.

      ^ that's a wild theory!

Regarding Karzai, it sounds like a breakthrough.

I bet he could really spill the beans on a lot of bad doings of American entities in Afghanistan. So they can't just shove him out the way Washington would desperately like to, in favor of even more of a pushover.

Hence the "leaks" about Karzai's dependency on anti-depressive medication, or whatever the type was.

Thus the US can point the finger at the Afghan for being erratic. I bet they have already spoken to their choice to replace him.

Shades of the USSR and Taraki and Amin...

The US just change their tactics, its next target is rather the poor Sindhi Zardari. ISI has become active and Maulana quits PPP's government. Sharif will certainly replace him soon.

Zama Wrora! Taliban do exist. Because only they could provide pakis (Punjabis) a way to capture azad Afghanistan. It is a simple logic, isn't it.

Let me give you a reality Check MI6 - You are a self hating paki. Oh yeah, you are pashtun, but you are paki. When an English man asks you at the pub "where did you come from?", you will reply "From Pakistan", because there is no "Pashtunistan" on the map. So stop slapping your self in the face. I can slap you too. But I just don't care to.
No matter how many times you scream it and how badly you would want it, you can't change reality. I know it is cathartic to pretend that I am paki so you project your own inferiority complex on to me. But it is unhealthy. Like wise sharia is opted by Muslims and Pashtuns are Muslims. So you a baymazab paki, a walking conundrum of identities need to figure ur self out before u try to figure me out. Also you are in denial of your british heritage. Come now its obvious you like your fish and chips over shurwa or whatever you call it Pakistan.

Khayla - your sarcasm is painful to read. Very.

p.s - next time you feel the urge to respond to me, just don't or I will slap some real sense into you.

Alchemist, don't you know sharia was invented by the punjabi isi, and the pashtuns were forcefully converted to moslem by the dirty pakis, and that the taliban are just punjabis masquerading as afghans fighting the US (who are loved and wanted by our elders, sisters and mothers btw), the US who they sent to afghanistan to add to their punjabi empire in the first place?

Alchemist first of all you are contradicting yourself. You say complex and then you point to an englishman to justify it lolzz. Ok so a englishman calls someone out of ignorance a "paki" therefore he is right and the Pashtun who wishes to have his sovereign land (which btw is rightfully Afghan territory which the British took and then handed to present day Pakistan...yeh real pashto and islam there lolzz). Second of all, just because a state doesn't exist doesn't mean one can't opt want or struggle for it. There is no Palestinian state but finally after 50+ years the world is starting to accept this idea. Why don't you use the same logic for them? For more than 40 years the Basques were oppressed by Franco and the French, yet they have been struggling for their unified Basque state.

Also if you are an Afghan than those "pakis" who live in Pashtunkhwa are your Afghan brethren, they speak your language and have your blood. The only difference is that the Englishman divided up our state and fed us to the wolves and we were leased out cheaply by our own Kings. From them on for a good number of decades we have to suffer under British where the people there gave many sacrifices. These same "pakis" made the bulk of the ghazis who fought and defended Afghanistan's nang in the third anglo-afghan war. So the next time you go to an August 19th Event cheering on "milli isthiqlaal" remember whose blood went to give you the oppurtunity to celebrate that day. These "pakis" did. Or is it maybe you are abit mad I post better articles than the Aljazeera stuff you use?

Maybe I am wrong but I do not understand what you wrote, I am just guessing.

If you want Pashtun forums to become a Punjabi Jihadi Terrorist recruiment centre where threads glorify Taliban, then fine, but I am sorry many of us here oppose Taliban, wheather they are Kandahari or Waziristani, Most here oppose ISI Punjabi Agent Proxies who slaughter Pashtuns in the name of Wahabism

The only thing i wrote in that post was that dont call pakistani;s PAKI..
I asked you to give paksitani people respect nor did I say anything about taliban.
I only asked u to give respect on this forum.
I have no interests in your articles. Please mind your language and a true pashtun never kisses a k***** of anyone.

We are Pashtuns not Pakis, where was no Paki before the 40's. You are a Paki who calls the people of waziristan and bolochistan as kaffirs who want to divide Napakistan.

                              Soon we will see!

Yeah, good luck trying to convince the brits that you are not paki. It's obvious from your rhetoric that you HATE being affiliated with Pakistanis so all this time you spend in the forum is just a mental exercise for venting out that frustration. I feel for you brother. But just like you don't like being called paki, I don't like it either.

Secondly, grow a pair of bullocks.
This is the first time I've heard a pashtun whine so much about pakis. Shame on you. Since when did afghans admit defeat to pakis? since when did indians/pakistani take over Afghanistan? Pakistan was and is a weak retarded baby with a colt .45 and you are pissing your pants that it might shoot you in the face when really the chance is just as high for it to shoot it self. People pick their enemies according to their own toughness. So let me reassure you that pakis don't have what it takes to subdue, manipulate afghans/pashtuns, let alone conquer us. Pakistan was created by subservient, spineless cowards who licked british boots for pleasure. As long as pakistan is in the boot licking business they will never win the respect of any afghan/pashtun ...be it talib or me. So take a chill pill. Punjab will never be a threat...

Work for pakis means that they are on paki payroll and that they take instructions from pakis. And currently there the media identifies two different "taliban", one in afghanistan and another in Pakistan. Basically, ISI is paying for the destruction of its own country? No, the chicken are coming to roost in Pakistan? No, I am telling you that ISI works for CIA/GCI/Mossad/MI6 because they are part of the same cabal of international mercenaries who work for the interest of the global elite. But the Government of Pakistan has no control over its own army. It did have control up until the invasion of Afghanistan by the US. But because the US is underming the Pakistani government's sovereignty with its drone attacks the locals are getting the feeling that every man is for himself. And translates to the fractured psychology that you witness here - mass paranoia and chronic anxiety.
