Christians are even more Violent than Wahhabis, you should read the history of Native Peoples in North America and the impact of Christianity. These days they try to use a different PR campaign, but don't be fooled into thinking their theology is more loving and compassionate.

I am talking on the basis of present observation. And obviously, any ideology that holds that it is the only, the ultimate, the total, the complete, etc. truth whereas the rest of every thing is falsity is VERY VERY VERY problematic whether Wahabi Islam or Christian fundamentalism.

One can live very creatively with someone who says "according to my belief, according to my thought, as I can understand it, ...." but not with someone who says "as I say it and what I say is the absolute and total truth...etc. etc. etc....so others must submit to it...".

well as a rationalist, personally I am turned off by people who try to sugar coat stuff. If God is real, I want the full sense of their reality, the hard to swallow aspects as well as the more pleasant ones. If someone tells me how sweet and kind and loving God is, I am immediately suspicion, not because I believe that a being such as God could not be those things, but because it only makes sense that something Supreme would not be out to win over hearts.

You may be right---at personal level, a rational justification of an entirely-benign God may be hard but in terms of utilitarian value, the concept of a merciful, loving, benevolent God that doesn't shun is kind of more appealing, acceptable (for someone who wants to believe and for someone who cannot believe---humanistic standpoint) especially with regard to the present state of global human society.

that's exactly why God being portrayed in such a way isn't consistent with utilitarian. Because utilitarian ideas emphasize objective ideas of usefulness, which isn't always done if we believe in this appeasing being. That's how I understand it.

no not the lady boy you're still with her, I mean the girl, she said she left you because my male appendage was bigger than yours. Sorry, once I'm done with her I'll give her back. I get bored easily.

I suscribe to no faith, and have no religion.

But I do not deny my Islamic Sunni Hanafi heritage, or insult it. I learned alot from it, and no doubt received some benefit from such an upbringing.

I proudly consider myself a Man of the East and suffer from no white washed delusions or inferiorities.

I also view Islamic peoples as a brotherhood, to which I belong, albeit without the spiritual connection, a more cultural brotherhood

Essentially, I have learned to distinguish between Islam as a culture/identity and as a religion. A distinction, my infidel status, allows me to do

as stupid as wahhabis are, at least they don't believe that babies are born sinners.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
