You had some good points, and made interesting conversation. Faye has resorted to ignoring anything that does not fit her preconcieved world view and goes to embarrassing lengths to do so.
    If I recall correctly, one of your major arguments against homosexuality was the medical risks inherent in anal sex, correct?[/QUOTE}

why are you so interested to talk about anal sex?
Actually, I was more interested in discussing homosexual rights, and I recall one of the major opponents here being obsessed with that topic, and using as the primary reason to refuse rights to homosexuals. Since I had some more information on the topic, I was interested in returning to it -- it's a much more interesting topic than watching you constantly lie and move goal posts.

are you an expert in that field?
Not really. I'm just a proponent for equal rights.

Call it evasions if you want. We all know that there is no point discussing it with you further, when you are so closed minded that you are insisting that something existing is not proof it could exist.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Mind if I ask what your religious (or non-religious) affiliation is? Since I'm tired of beating a dead horse, it might be nice to change the topic.

          • How do you explain the reason why people find so much happiness in religion?

you evade giving proof to a claim you made, because you cannot prove your claim.

so now you start evading my new request and calling ME the goalpost changer and liar, which is another evasion.

Apparently, there is no such a thing as an agnostic Muslim so my religious "affiliation" does not exist. I have not figured it out completely so I won't declare myself as being anything at the moment. I have been considering taking some religious studies courses as a hobby but that can mess up one's belief system if approached in a state of confusion so...,yeah.

It is a relief to many to have answers to the big questions.

It's scary to many to contemplate that this world is all we get.

To many, the idea of a reward in the afterlife is a major driving force.

The idea that suffering is not all the see.

The concept that even though the world might not be fair, evil will be punished in the afterlife.

Being reunited with loved ones that have passed on? What's not to like about that idea?

Prayer gives someone who is otherwise helpless the opportunity to feel like they are helping, or making a difference. Most people can not do anything to help when a loved one gets terminally ill -- I can see the appeal in the though that you can pray for them to get better, and think you are helping.

Religion also provides a sense of community -- a place to belong, a place with other people with similar worldviews to gather and face the world together -- or even socialize.

You might as well drop it. As far as I am concerned, I proved that something can exist when I showed that it did exist. Since you are unwilling to discuss this like adults, I'm done with that topic.

in other words, let you off the hook, for being unable to show proof of your claim of' no creator being needed' and your changing of goalposts to me having siupposedly said, that a god is needed.

no worries..i can do that for you.

I'm not an expert on Islam, by any means, but my understanding of Islam, as well as my understanding of agnosticism leads me to believe that the two are not incompatible.

An agnostic Muslim would be one that submits to the will of god/allah, believes that there is no god but allah, and Mohammad is his messenger -- and takes this on faith, understanding that ultimately it is impossible to conclusively prove or disprove the existence of that god.

for this claim, you also have no proof.

                              • i am not comfortable with either one of those terms on their own and together they might defy each other... I m okay with not being sure as long as I keep on searching. If I do figure it out, good. If I don't, pretending that I have surely won't get me anything.
