What if the Moon is gone....how would the earth be affected?

Most immediately, the tides would stop, which would effect the currents and oxygenation of the waters. In the long run, it would effect most all ocean life would be forced to cope in lower oxygen environment, and the core of the Earth would likely cool faster without the gravitational 'kneading' on the mantle. There are likely other effects that I cannot think of off the top of my head, as I am not a cosmologist, nor have I thought much about this issue.

How could the seasons or days and nights come in the wrong order? The only way for days and nights to come in the 'wrong order' would be for the planet to repeatedly pause in rotation, and reverse direction in the course of 24 hours.

That's not true. Many of the animals of the night hunt when there is cloud cover, or no moon, or both. In fact, many owls hunt *better* when there is less light, since they use sound to locate prey, and the lack of light makes it harder for the prey to avoid them.

Interesting that you think we are clones, when the only thing we really appear to have in common is our abilities to prove you wrong. Our writing styles are very different, our language choice is different, our stance on personal attacks are different, our mathematical backgrounds are different, our areas of interest are different, our examples are different, our posting times are different.

Really, we only have an interests in science and logic, as well as our ability to apply science in common.
