i became more realistic and broadened my choices. it doesn't matter where i end up because i have seen one of it already and i would be more than glad to experience the other.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

But who said Heaven was a priority? Which one have you seen already that has made you more realistic?
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

I pray like a gazillion (5) times a day, but I'm pretty sure it's still not enough...

DZJ, you've lost it. But then again, you should be careful what you wish for.

This is a major weakness and the source of much insecurity for me. I would say 2-3 times a day besides ramadan ofcourse. But I can never seem to keep my 'promises' during ramadan to try to consistently pray 5 times a day.

ok i saw this thread once long time ago when i was trying to stay away from PF lol, so i never got a chance to share my experience so i'm bringing it back

I always try to pray 5 times a day.
but sometimes i miss a prayer because of my location at the time, or failures of alarm clocks in the morning, but when ever i miss a prayer i make sure to pray Qaza-E-moonz
like you said afridi wrora, i feel uncomfortable if i miss a prayer, it follows me the whole day until i make it up
But i really like keeping up with praying 5 times a day, it keeps you in check for the whole day so you're not just being lazy from early in the morning and then before you realize it it's already night time lol
And it's also refreshing, to just get away from what ever your doing and just focus on Allah & your prayers

                  @OP

This is really a question that is better addressed to yourself, how many times others pray really shouldnt effect your prayers..same for everyone else

To me this discussion of asking and discussing how many times we pray a day is just self gratifying or it makes one feel better knowing that others float the same boat
It's enough that I know, Our time had a home, In your heart..Was a place..But the glass always breaks..

i think it's okay to discuss as long as the posters are aware that prayer truly is between an individual and Allah, so i find it okay to discuss as long as no judgment is intended from anyone. We should be encouraging each other to complete our prayers 5 times a day. One thing i have seen frequently is when muslims find it such a shame to break your fast in ramadan, but they barely acknowledge praying 5 times a day in their daily lives. my point is that we need to remind each other that prayer is part of the 5 pillars of islam, it's as mandatory as fasting in ramadan is but many muslims today look over praying 5 times a day. If we discuss our own experiences with prayer then it will not only boost our own eeman but it may also encourage others so start focusing on their own prayers as we help each other out and say well we are only human, we will miss a prayer here or there but that is okay, there is Qaza-E-prayer for that, or we can say well i've asked my boss for time off this way or that way, so we can give each other tips on that as well.
But i understand what you are saying. i agree that prayer is between the person and Allah (of course) and we should not be boasting about who prays more than the other, but that does not mean we can't encourage & help out others in trying to guide them to focus on their prayer (:

It is a very good topic... it should be used for motivation rather than self exaggeration as self exaggeration regarding to "salah" is shirk.
May Allah protect us from shirk and motivate us towards salah.

A lot of people that pray do so as a form of remorse, in order to compensate for the rest of the day where they lie, cheat, and swindle, though this wouldn't apply to everyone, it is fairly common.

I mostly miss fajr but I never forget to pray qaza ( da fajr qazayei monz). Alhamdullilah I pray 5 times a day including nafl some of which take over 20 minutes per 2 rakats.

I cant sleep if i dont pray Isha. I cant think of taking lunch if my zuhr is missed. I think its not something which i should be proud of , its FARZ and I must pray even if i am sick

Lets not forget that its the food of our grave and the other world so lets prepare ourselves for our other world. I spent 28 yrs of my life in this world and it went away like a second, the rest of it will go too but the only thing which will remain with me forever will be my worship (the first and last helper to protect me from fire).

                              Aqeim al salatak, qabal mamatak
(Pray before your jinaza prayer is prayed)

yes! good point! When someone is sick they should do their prayer. i don't see how "i can't i'm sick" is an excuse if you're feeling sick i can tell you now that completing your moonz will make you feel better
but of course under certain circumstances when one really cannot get up, then one could figure something out like praying from where they are, or in a sitting position (like i've seen many elderly people do)

so one question that i just thought of lol, has anyone here ever prayed in the car (if you are in a moving vehicle and you can't pullover)? What about an airplane?
