At the end, I think he used the word "Pathans" as the first example of tough mountaineers. Someone might tell him that preferable to say Pashtuns !

It was to point out that not all skills and talents are equal, since such people have a huge endurance edge over someone, for example, raised on a flat island.
He mentions Chechens and Kashmiris too. I had not thought of the latter as hardy mountaineers, I guess so, though.

Still, Pashtuns were at the top of the list.

These people are exalting one or another group for their vested interests or sometimes utopian dreams. They should stop destroying innocent people, elderly, women, childern, etc. That is immoral.

No, it's other countries who are doing that every single day in the same Pashtun mountains referred to here, as well as other areas of the country.

Why does THAT not trouble you a bit?

Extremists have blood of our innocent people on their hands not to mention the responsibility to destroy schools, bridges, etc. In Swat alone, they destroyed hundreds of schools. And Pashtuns are extremly angry about it. They are also angry because they consider extremists responsible for their humuliation.

I am telling you the truth that Pashtuns will side with any body who will help them get rid of the menace of terrorism. So kindly do away with this misunderstanding that Pashtuns want a war.

Pashtun kids want to go to school as Turkish kids want to. Please respect their rights and aspirations.

            Of course they do!
So, why don't you send around a petition, collect millions of signatures, and present to ISAf to request them to leave the country so everyone can learn useful subjects to get ahead, rather have to resist the onslaught of glitzy press-oriented "operations" like Khanjar - which happens to be the name I believe of the famous Yemeni dagger.

Curious, is this the name of a Pashtun dagger too, by the way?

I couldn't stand that name for a NATO attack. Especially one that wasted everyone's lives, time and money. it's like throwing many millions of $$$ into a furnace. Those could have helped Afghan schoolchildren were the invaders truly interested in the welfare of any Afghan anywhere in the country !
The truth is, they are not.

What about all the American money paid in bribes to lure Afghans into serving them?
There is no accounting anywhere for that, likely.
But it must skyrocket all the time to worse heights.
Couldn't that have gone to better purposes, such as lovely housing for many underprivileged families ?

I am more interested in good housing, reliable electricity and basic standard of living than I am in education. It won't solve the problems of the world. It will only help in some limited ways. What good is perfect knowledge of some arcane subject when one is starving, after all?

Catya Sher, I cannot understand one point; if majority of Pashtuns don't want to fight, why do you want them to fight? Your stance is ethically untenable.

Pashtuns are which of the following :

                A. Refusing to Fight ?
                B. Dragging their feet to Fight ?
                C. Believing that it is ethically untenable to Fight ?

I never have heard of any of the three options as remotely applicable here.

Pashtuns are not Fiji Islanders drinking coconut juice all day, but A RENOWNED WARRIOR RACE.

So please explain the utterly foreign sounding phrase "majority of Pashtuns don't want to fight" ?

To sum up, they are NOT the type to "remain behind" when there are invaders in the land.
Others may prevaricate, hence this video, but not Pashtuns, ever !
