Can't be that well known being that I couldn't find much references to this person. But anyway, http://atheism.about.com/b/2006/07/2...g-to-islam.htm

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read the "well-known," lol. Apparently, if a "well-known" person does something, then everyone will perhaps THINK about his decision so that they, too, can follow his footsteps. Luckily, that doesn't work for me.

I, too, coudln't find him anywhere. So, obviously, it's just a way to trap atheists who can't think for themselves -- or theists, for that matter, since they'll be more convinced that, yep, their religion is the "correct" one because, oh look, "well-known" people are converting to it.

How come we don't get to read about well-known Muslims who leave Islam, whether to convert to another religion or Atheism? Or do we? I know of tons of Muslims who've left Islam, but most of them fear revealing the truth to their families and non-close friends because they know that the punishment is supposed to be death for apostasy :|

I wouldn't call it disappointment, really. I mean, I don't care who converts to what, you see. But I just don't think it's a big deal or "news" at all. People convert to Islam just as they leave it ALLLLLLL the time. The only reason that those who leave it aren't publicized is that there's supposed to be a punishment for Muslims who leave Islam, you see ...

But to me, it's the quantity of a people that matters; it's their quality. So what that people are converting to Islam? What are they doing to improve this world? THAT's what we should be worried, not having a ton of babies and/or converting people to Islam as a way to increase Muslim populations across the world. It's not the label that matters; it's not which faith people practice -- it's how they can help improve the lives of people who are suffering; it's what legacy they leave behind for later generations.

If converts REALLY care about humanity, then they should know that it doesn't matter which religion you practice; you can be a good person, good human under ANY religion. So I'd keep an eye on this person (convert to Islam) to see what he's doing FOR the world now in the name of Islam. If he does nothing, he'll be worth nothing in my eyes... not that I might actually KNOW what he does, but still. Just saying, y'know. This applies to all Muslims -- and all non-Muslims, too. I'm a human before anything else.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Totally. I admit, I've met a lot of dumb atheist in my life.

                      MashaAllah.
Life is like posing for pictures. We pose the way we want to be seen by others. But stolen shots are better. They capture who we really are...
