Bismillah walhamdulilah wasalaatu wasalaam alaa rasulilah
As salaamu aleikoum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu wa maghfiratu
Some Sufi extremists said in various threads that they are moderate Muslims.
So I want to talk about moderation.
Some people argue that we should be moderate. If we are to become moderates, the question I would ask is, moderate compared to what? What do we need to take as a model so we can adjust ourselves to it? Because obviously we do not want to be extremely deviated to any extremes.
In Islam we have the concept of "Ummate wasat". Meansing people of the middle path.
For those of you who have studied some basic principles of Islam, you should know that the middle path is quran and sunnah. We as Muslims should not deviate from quran and sunnah. And applying quran and sunnah is where we need to position ourselves.
So now, the question is, where does moderation come in here? Should we be conservative in applying Quran and sunnah in our daily lives and practices in order to be moderate? Obviously that cannot be possible.
So should be be conservative in deviating from Quran and Sunnah? Again, this is not possible. Because any deviance from Quran and sunnah is misguidance.
So what is moderation? Should we take the kuffaar, the infidels ideologies as a model and try to adjust ourselves to them? For what purpose? To please the infidels?
Because obviously Allah will not be pleased to see his slaves deviating from his path and choosing the path of the disbelievers.
My conclusion is, moderation in Islam is nonsense. It is a concept invented by infidels who want Muslims to initiate a gradual process of de-islamization.
And therefore we should reject the concept of moderation.
For those of you whop are going to argue that there are a set of rules in islam that aplly to people like not praying too much or not neglecting daily life by resorting to acts of worship alone, I have the following reply: It is in the quran and the sunnah that we should only do what is required from us plus voluntary acts of worship as they are prescribed in sunnah. No more than that. So again, there is no need to be moderate here. Because what is required from us and what we need to do is already set in quran and sunnah.
Your thoughts?
