The reason why Muslims argue is because so many innovations have happened that people are confused. People worship a grave, when Allaah has said to only worship him.

That is why the grave of An Nabee ص is restricted to anyone.

Muslims do not believe in a god with humany attributes, anyone who believes Allah has a jism, direction etc, is kafir, this is stated by the highest sunni ulama. And if one believes this, then they are not muslim. simple! to give Allah sWT direction, is to give him limit, and define him by time & space, and Allah SWT is beyond that. its very simple actually!
