Allah Azza Wa Jall says in the Holy Quran that we should not take our leaders and scholars as gods.
The underlying point that Allah wishes to convey to us is that the difference between Islam and the other religions is that in Islam we can all be learned people in deen. That is why in Islam anyone can lead prayers on any clean surface.
What breaks my heart is that today we have been hijacked by people who claim to be learned, and that their interpretation of deen is final, no ifs or buts about it.
Today, our ummah is corrupted, on many levels, but one of those levels that I wish to address is blind faith.
To rely on scholars is important for we cannot all become learned people in deen, however, in order to select the right scholars one must rely on God. The only way to rely on God is to understand He exists. When one understands He existence then one will have the courage to stand up to pseudo-scholars, even if it meant death. Today, our ummah feel that our scholars our corrupted, however, they don't stand up to them, instead they leave Islam or simply do their own thing.
We need to bring back all of our lost brothers and sisters, for they did not leave because of Islam; they left because they were being forced to accept something that they could not comprehend. In turn, they just concluded that God does not exist because this religion does not make sense. They left because of scholars, not because they had studied Islam. Others who stay Muslim and do their own thing, are just scared to be blacklisted; internally they have a lot of unanswered questions.
We need to unite, at the individual level, against all of these so-called scholars. How? By educating ourselves about our deen.Last edited by MeemWawMeemNoon; 09-25-2010, 09:44 AM.Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:
[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.
[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

I totally agree with you in this case brother. And important point to remember is also, that every diviant sect started and innovation in the religion was introduced by so-called scholars. Because people followed them blindly, they were mislead without they knowing it and became heretics and deviants.Originally posted by MeemWawMeemNoon View PostAllah Azza Wa Jall says in the Holy Quran that we should not take our leaders and scholars as gods.

This is a post from another thread:Originally posted by Haneef View PostYou don't blind follow?
You know ARABIC?
You know all the hadith
the Quran Sharif by heart?
You have access to the isnad of each hadith, their context they were stated in?
Do you have the context of each quranic ayyat and what the mufasireen have stated?
but of course not, you woulnd't be here on this forum if you did you would be a Mujtahid Mutlaq having thousands of people.
so do you blind follow? YES, you read an english translation and copy and paste to make yourself feel better, look smarter, but in reality you look really dumb.
We blind follow every step of our lives almost, only if we realized it. When we go to a doctor, we get a nukhsa and that's accepted. When we step into buildings, we walk in believing someone has done their job maintaining this building. We don't go check the certificates, the walls, the elevator wires, the electric wires.
wake up!!!

Moral of the story: Don't look down on others.
We are ALL blind followers of something, even Atheists are. We accept what scientists say for face value.
Again, dera manana, wrora.
