I just want to emphasze just more on the Kashf / Firsast wich is a reality within Islam that special people among the Ummah of Islam posess. Just as the true dream is a characteristic of the believer, so is kashf a characteristic of belief according to the following hadith.Look at this Hadith :
From al-Harith ibn Malik al-Ansari (some chains have: al-Haritha ibn al-Na`man al-Ansari): He passed by the Prophet who asked him: "How are you this morning O Haritha [sic]?" He replied: "This morning I am a real believer." The Prophet said: "Take care of what you say: what is the reality of your belief?" He said: "I have turned myself away from this world by keeping awake at night and by keeping myself thirsty by day; and I can almost see the Throne of my Lord in full sight; and I can see the people of the Garden of Paradise visiting each other; and I can almost see the people of the Fire wailing to each other in it." The Prophet said: "O Haritha, you do know: therefore cleave to it." Some versions add: "This is a believer, Allah has illumined his heart"(Narrated by Tabarani in his Mu`jam al-Kabir, al-Bazzar, Suyuti in his Jami` al-saghir, al-Haythami in Majma` al-zawa'id in the "Chapter on the Reality of Belief and its Perfection" (bab haqiqat al-iman wa kamalih), al-`Askari, Ibn al-Mubarak in Kitab al-zuhd, `Abd al-Razzaq through two chains, Ibn Mindah, Bayhaqi in Shu`ab al-iman, Ibn Asram in Kitab al-istiqama, Ibn Sa`id, and Ibn Abi Shayba in his Musannaf. Abu Hanifa mentions it in his al-Fiqh al-akbar. Ibn Hajar in his Isaba lists its many chains and says that this is a hadith mu`dal (i.e. its chain is missing two or more sub-narrators) and mawsul (or: muttasil; i.e. it is linked back to a Companion through the authority of a Tabi`i. )

If this Sahabi can see things why couldnt Hazrat Omar ( R.A) ?
In the next Hadith Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) tells the Sahabi Hanzala (R.A) that if his (Hanzalas) "state of mind is always the same as it is at the time of remembrance of Allah, the Angels would shake hands with you and would greet you on the path by saying: As-Salamu-Alaikum"
This Hadiths also gives us indicator that he will be also able to see the angels .Here is the full Hadith:
Hanzala reported: We were in the company of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and he delivered to us a sermon and made a mention of Hell-Fire. Then I came to my house and began to laugh with my children and sport with my wife. (Hanzala) further reported: I went out and met Abu Bakr and made a mention of that to him. Thereupon he said: I have done the same as you have mentioned. So we went to see Allah's Messenger (way peace be upon him) and said to him: Allah's Messenger, Hanzala has turned to he a hypocrite. And he (the Holy Prophet) said Show respite. And then I narrated to him the story, and Abu Bakr said: I have done the same as he has done. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Hanzala, there is a time for worldly affairs and a time for (worship and devotion), and if your state of mind is always the same as it is at the time of remembrance of Allah, the Angels would shake hands with you and would greet you on the path by saying: As-Salamu-Alaikum. ( Sahih Muslim ,Book 037, Number 6624: The Book Pertaining to Repentance and Exhortation to Repentance (Kitab Al-Tauba)
So you see the Ummah of our beloved Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) ,special ones among it can see things ,hear things etc.. just as Ibn Tamiyya explained :
It is said that after the Seal of Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wassallam) revelation does descend but it is not called so. Rather it is called as what the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wassallam) referred to as the “Light of God”. The believer sees with the Light of God. When the believer sees through the Light of God he sees all things – the First and the Last; the Present and the Absent. How can anything be concealed from God’s light? And, if something does appear concealed, then it is not the Light of God. Therefore, the meaning of revelation exists even if it is not called so. Further, according to him: What is considered as a saint’s miracle, is that sometimes the saint hears what others do not hear or sees something that others do not see – not while he is asleep, but in a wakened state of vision. He even knows things that others cannot know, through revelation or inspiration – not while he is asleep, but in a wakened state of vision. He even knows things that others cannot know through revelation or inspiration. (Majmu’a Fataawa)
So brother after all these evidences if you still want to deny existance of Sufi Saints and their powers then be my guest and you have to answer to Allah on Judgement Day.

it's very dangerous, you can see how people abuse the reports for their own irreligious beliefs
