  • A Sufi's Kalam....!

Translated poetry of my spiritual teacher, my Baba Jee:

    1) The lines of soil are breathing actually
The property they have is only an estimate
Pieces of this estimate is nothing but fiction
We have named these pieces as our senses.
    ……….
    2) There was a word which converted into a story
There was a city which converted into a graveyard
O Azeem! Time has spelled thousands of reflections
I was soil but converted into a wine-glass.
    …………..
    3) This soil tells too much stories to me
Many nights has been passed in this conversation
These grains of this soil were Humans once upon a time
Their races were Sheikh, Barahmin; Punjabi, Pathan.
    ..........
    (to be continued...)

none of this is based in accordance to quran and sunnah. Its just innovation of people who wanted to imitate Hindus and Greeks.

Mullah Sangar is our comedian here. Everything that is not Islamic in his opinion should be banned.

He is close-minded individual that probably doesn't even know what Sufism is about but just because his Mullahs told him its bad, it has to be bad.

                          Samima Graane,

I think, as you would agree, there is a difference between being a comedian, a Mullah and an extremist. I am not here to take sides, but I see something wrong in the approach of the few participants toward each other in this thread (not the content - Son of Mountains, do not take this personally - please).

While I am no fan of Sufi practices I think there is always some good to take out of someone’s contributions and works. If one can decide and draw the line in such instances to say so and so were such and such, then I assume they also have the capacity to decide what is of deviant nature and what isn’t. In a space like this, it would be injustice to discuss the biographies of Sufi poets, and base them on certain poems, but to argue where to draw the line in ‘believing’ in their works and being ‘influenced’ by them should be clear. In saying that I am merely suggesting that reading poetry of such nature comes down to your confidence in your own beliefs. Filtering and consumption is thus made easy when your Aqeedah is strong, and therefore, those suggesting that it is dangerous for some, is too understandable.

In saying that, I would like to this to serve as a reminder also that the way in which we correct someone's mistakes needs a lot of thought, humility and compassion. There are volumes written on the way Rasulullah SAW corrected people in matters of Deen and, needless to say, that too is a part of Sunnah that we should implement in our lives. Instead of making bold statements about certain issues, we should attempt to explain the reasons and provide evidence and argument instead of making people rebel against our voice (which at times may be in accordance with the authentic sources).
