  • What is wrong with Silk

It was Narrated by Bukhari that the prophet said a time will come within the ummah that things such as silk will be deemed permisslbe.

Silk feels great and is excellent to use on bed covers and linings.

I dont see any logical reason why Silk is bad for Humanity. I dont see any Health risk issues it creates unlike suicide bombers and dominating the world by inforcing Islam by the sword and Quran.

    Whats your views on this........................

    Kind Regards

P.S Shahi Bukhari was born 200 years after the Prophets Death.

silk is prohibited for men to wear. Men are not allowed to wear expensive golden rings and watches or expensive clothes made out of silk.

Making yourself pretty like women is deemed as un-Islamic.

You can use silk for other purposes.

            Dear Khyberguy

What is fail is you trying to say Mullah Omar isnt a Proxy of ISI. Fail is you khyberguy who tries to associate Taliban with Pashtun Nationalism, Fail is you khyberguy who lives in the wests uploads Talib videos and replaces titles with a Nationalistic association to deceive viewers. Fail is you who has joined hands with a Sangar who wants to defend his fellow ISI Muslim brother.

What health risk does wearing Silk do to mankind?

            Kind Regards

                  How Silk is Made
Silk today is still made the exact same way as 5,000 years ago. Although the process has been refined and made more efficient, silk is still won from the cocoons of the silk worm. Silk worms are farmed in the millions. After eating through piles of mulberry leaves, the worms roll themselves into their silk yarn to make a cocoon. The cocoon is then selected, and the worms are separated from the cocoons. Then the cocoons (see picture below) are being un-spun using steam. The silk yarns is then bleached and dyed before spun into a thicker silk thread. Eventually thousands of silk threads are woven into fabric that is used to make luxury pieces of clothing for men and women around the world.

If you ever wondered how much silk a worm produces, then you will probably be surprised to find out that a single cocoon is made up from 1,000 to 3,000 feet of silk yarn. What is even more astonishing is that over 2,000 cocoons are needed to make one pound of silk. This translates to about 150 per necktie! It is nice to find out that an Oregon company developed a method to make silk that does not require to kill the worms!

i think maseed will look pretty in silk

Maseeda, it's true that the use of silk is prohibited for men in Islam. The reason is that the Arabs used to spend a lot of money on importing silk. They did not make it haram for women though as a good bulk of the imported silk would have gone into waste.

                        Dawezai,
                        Is this a confirmed fact?
Why would silk being deemed haram for men make such a gigantic dent in the silk imports to Arabia via the Old Silk Road?
They probably imported all sorts of items. A few more goods added to the camels' loads would not bankrupt the Arabs at that time.
                        I'm just wondering; I don't know myself.

I personally view silk as beneficial for screening out negative energies. For example, special books or favorite items can be wrapped in pure silk to keep them spiritually safe. Is there anything wrong with that?

I wear silk when I get the feeling someone could show up to stir up problems over nothing at all, egged on by demons to ruin my day. I often select to wear large black pure silk scarves around my neck and/or shoulders to antidote or ward off the negative sparks they aggressively transmit.

Even online one can feel the waves of bad energy.

Speaking of those who like to stir up trouble!, - I am still chuckling over the apt comment above:

"maybe maseed is well in touch with his feminine side and would like to wear silk shirts."

To understand the importance of silk in those days, you will need to study the history of the Silk War (1392-1401). The Romans not only made silk 'haraam' for the same reason but also waged a long war against Serica as they were losing too much gold to Serica by importing the latter's silk.
