First and foremost, by far the greatest recitations I have ever heard: Qari `Abdul-Basit `Abdul-Samad’s (rahimahullah) recitation of Sura Yusuf and Sura Maryam in his youth. My ustad - Allah reward him -, another devoted lover of the Qari, introduced me to these, and they were to him also the best he had ever heard. I believe they were recorded when the Shaykh was in South Africa in the fifties or sixties, and they are recited in various recitations (qira’a).

its your opinion. People like different stuff. I like his recitation. I got it on my mp3 player at the moment. But its not like he is the best. He exaggerates sometimes.[SIZE="4"][B][CENTER][URL="www.quranawsunnat.com"]www.quranawsunnat.com

salamuna
i personally prefer minshawi and husary, but abdul basit is also good
i find that minshawi has a much more spiritual recitation style but every one has a different taste
btw basit studied under minshawi's fatherComment
