Why do we need validation from everyone?
[MENTION=19424]Firdousi[/MENTION] is right, we should keep a low profile, we don't always need to boast or flaunt our religion in everyone's faces.
Since when was Islam about behaving like a bunch of loud, obnoxious, egotistical brats that feel entitled all the time?
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

You guys are looking for negativity in every video about Muslims.
No why should Muslims lock themselves away from The society. This video itself proves what you guys are professing is not needed and westerners do not want Muslims to lock themselves away.
It proves my point from another thread about American Muslims as compared to Britain.

Well, TBH it's one thing you debunk on live in TV bigot lies about muslims spread around non-muslims in certain parts of the country, or anything like that.
It's another thing trying to show us muslims as angels by making social "experiments" like some muslim on the street offering free hugs n **** and waiting for reaction from non-muslims or something like that(i haven't watch the video yet, but i assume it's probably the same kind of thing).
TBH, i kinda agree with iblis. It's a little bit annoying trying to show islam as the true religion like that(not that's anything wrong with that, but it's my opinion). I rather have it proved right in some proffesional and non-forceful way.Last edited by jama0112; 03-29-2018, 08:53 AM.

Firstly, Firdousi lives in Europe. Secondly, American Muslims pull this kind of stuff too. My point here is that why should we care to seek validation or approval from everyone else? We should take a low profile not for Westerners, but for our own sake. We're devolving into their incredibly juvenile and vaiin antics, that can't be for any good.Originally posted by Akbar View PostWow

I'm not talking just about this video but it seems you guys have an issue every time you see someone visibly Muslim and taking part in the society.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostFirstly, Firdousi lives in Europe. I don't know where in Europe firdousi lives and I can't talk for all of Europe.
This is not to seek validation or approval, I think the reason you see it that way is because you seem to take the low profile approach to it. This is to prove islamophobes argument wrong and live life openly as a Muslim.
I will post another one from her about hijab

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,"
The Quranic Arabic Corpus - Translation
This has many layers of meaning here, but the lesson being taught is to remain reserved in how we act and behave in the open. That we should be contenplative and reflective , not boisterous and making flamboyant displays of ourselves. There's a place and time for eveyrthing, the middle of the street isn't the place/or time.
Also think for a moment, the people who are patronizing her, are the same people who embrace Transgendered Rights and Gay Marriage and Western Feminism ... They're against "Islamophobes", just because Islamophobes tend to be against those things and hence use Muslims as a political chess piece the same way they use other minorities.Last edited by Iblis_Efreetzai; 03-29-2018, 03:03 PM.

Did you watch the video? She wasn't acting loud, obnoxious, or egotistical. Also, she wasn't actually standing in the middle of the street or being disruptive.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostWhy do we need validation from everyone?

I wouldn't do something like this myself, but this isn't one of those annoying videos where people are yelling and harassing others.

Ehh, I didn't really find much objectionable to what she did.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostWhat I mean here, is being ostentatious.
I'd agree with you if it was one of those videos where people start yelling at random passersby, but this seemed pretty subtle for a street act.

standing in the middle of a public square with a sign on is pretty ostentatious. I'm not just talking about yelling, but also flamboyant displays.Originally posted by maneatinglizard View PostEhh, I didn't really find much objectionable to what she did.

When I say that "Muslims should keep a low profile" its for pragmatical reasons. I do agree with you that we should always be proud of ourselves and never let other people to intimidate us. But we are living in some dangerous times. The rise of neo-fascism is a fact. This people thrive on Muslim hatred. They will use anything to attack Muslims. They use Muslim women to attack Muslim men. They even use anti-semitism to attack Muslims although they hate Jews as much as they hate Muslims. But Muslims are considered a bigger and more dangerous threat. Few days ago in England there was this anti-semite "incident" in the British Laboral party. Corbyn was accused of anti-semitism by the right. Do you know what did happen after that? They dragged Muslims into the argument and started insulting us for absolutely no reason.Originally posted by Akbar View PostWow

My point is that we shouldnt give them reasons to attack us and spread anti Muslim bigotry. When two weeks ago Muslims went to this demostration in the UK agains this moron, Robinson or wahtever his name is, they proved that moron right by behaving like monkeys.
These guys are a bunch of losers. They dont have a real alternative for the current liberal order. Robinson and other zealots lie him are only good at making trouble and fighting refugees but any smart person knows that if they become too powerful they will destroy UK.
We are going through same dangerous and angry times. But it will eventually pass. I am 100% sure that the alt-right has reached or is about to reach his peak. But then it will collapse for it only thrives on hatred, ignorance and frustration. People are right now angry and frustrated at the establishment, lefties, corporations, Muslims, feminists, etc. But it will eventually stop. They cant provide a real alternative and they will screw things up. Just like Islamist did in the IW and now nobody likes them."For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,
I awaken the Ajam by this Persian [language]. "
