so what do you want God to do? Do you want him to send put faith in everyone's heart so that they were all believers, like some pre installed windows computer?.

Just to have better communication skills and have new versions of his mission statements, revealed with multi-language support. Is that too much to ask, if it bothers his eminence I can narrow my demands to just a few languages and will even give up hope for a supporting iphone app requirement (that is so painful).

Muhmmad (saw) went to caves for peace and tranquility. he was a spiritual being unlike materialistic and empty souls we see nowadays. He saw more purpose in life than just sleeping, eating and making love like animals do. Ofcourse God will reveal himself to those who seek him. ......................../

I went to this cave in Wisconsin to see crystal formation and experience absolute darkness. Was fun. Unfortunately they did not let me stay longer and Allah was probably in some cave in Tora Borra, in any case he did not come.
As far as my recollection and memory serves me. Muhammad did sleep, eat and had more women then an NBA star.

God is intrested in so called nitty gritties because nitty grities have affect on society and humanity at large. Consider the issue of homosexuality for example. You might only consider it to be a matter of which hole to stick it in (sorry to be blunt) but its much more than that. The well being of society is affected by such matters. The collapse of family unit and family values and social structures effect the society greatly. Its not just nitty gritty.

I love the taliban family structure, husband with his surma, walking ten feet ahead of the cloaked women (could be a young boy in that burka- its just an assumption on my part that it is a pre-pubescent girl, in accordance with sunna). Certianly not a matter of sticking it in this or that hole.

Ritual acts have their own signficance. When you gather for pray in congregation you meet other poeple and socialize and it helps create a bond in society. Though the acts maybe ritualistic to some, they have far reaching implications. Even Richard Dawkins (the ardent athiest) admitted that when religion is whiped out they would need some kind of celebrations and social rituals to replace the religious ones. .

I agree, I love the ritualistic Attan (dance). The spring festivities. Even the festive mingling on eid (a pagan festival practiced much before islam). I did not know that the Quran sanctioned Attan and nowroz.

If you pray, even if it is ritualistic, its good for your body. at least you are getting some exersize and you are not like those lazy western kids who spend all day infront of the computer playing games.

I totally agree, An hour of early morning Yoga will do wonders for your physique. I sweer by it. For starters I recommend kundalini, its easy and has a meditative side to it as well.
