  • Rumi was a pervert and nobody should honor him

Rumi was a homosexual and a pedophile. I believe this to be so because of the following three reasons:

First of all, Persian poetry is essentially a gay/homo-erotic poetry. Persian poets have always used gay love and pedarasty in their poetry. In fact, there is even a book written to describe the extent of perarasty in Persian literature:

    شاهدبازی در ادبیات فارسی

The book is written by an Iranian scholar of Persian literature. Basically, it describes how homosexuality and pedarasty define the essence of what is considered typical Persian poetry.

The second reason is the presence of homo erotic verses in Rumi's poetry and homosexual and child abuse found in biographies of Rumi written by fellow Sufis who revered him.

With regards to Rumi's own poetry, I make the following observation: Defendors of Rumi and obscurantism usually refuse to acknowledge the true meaning of Rumi's poetry because there are many ambiguous verses in his poems. But the fact that those ambiguous verses are typical and standard homo erotic expressions in Persion poetry in general is the reason why it is safe to say that the verses are not misinterpreted by opponents of Rumi. Rumi was a Persian and he was very well aware of what certain metaphors commonly used in Persian literature actually mean. When he chose to use those metaphors extensively, he did so because he embraced the culture of pedarasty and homosexuality. His poems are manifestations of his own personal persuation and sexual orientation.

The biography of Rumi written by fellow Sufis give us the context of Rumi's life and his poetry. By studying his biography written by his own admirers, we discover shocking passages where Rumi and his master Shams Tabrizi are revealed as child molestors and homosexuals.

Here is a passage of such a biography where Rumi is pimping his own family:

The practice of pedarasty and homosexuality in Sufism was known even in the times of Ibn Jawzi. The famous classic book of Ibn Jawzi called Talbees Iblees vividly describes the gay nature of sufism in his era. He died centuries ago. Long before "Wahhabis" emerged.

Anyone who is genuinely interested in knowing the true nature of Sufism and Its main protagonist, Rumi, will find plenty of evidence in Rumi's own poems and his biographies and some general knowledge of Persian culture and literature. This is why I have always said that those who defend Rumi are either extremely ignorant or staunch defendors of obscurantism, pedarasty and homosexuality.

Prophet Muhammad married Aisha when she was only 6... should we praise him, my dear takfiri brother?

Personally I believe there is nothing wrong about homosexuality as long as its between adults and both agree to engage in such relationship. I find suicide bombs, beheading people, drug dealing, women oppression,.. much worse deeds.

Rumi apparently pimped his own children to Shams. That's your cultural heritage.

"Apparently", so.. its not a "fact", right? lol

My dear friend, you have gone crazy once you saw my comment condemning Pashtun warmongerism all over the region and the world. Let me put this clear to you: not a single Persianspeaker, whether Afghan, Tajiki or Iranian, will ever praise paedophilia (its a huge problem in our society I must admit just like within Pashtuns). But you will find plenty of Pashtuns bragging about their warmongerism and violent nature. Think about it.

You won't achieve anything by insulting Persianspeakers. Pashtuns are Pashtuns main enemy.

What's the matter? Can't you read the parsi book and quote? Don't tell me you are one of those westernized deluded people who claims persian pride but can't read or write in his native tongue?

Actually I was born in Afghanistan and spent most of my life in there. Unlike most of the Afghan nationalist here, I speak very well Farsi, understand Pashto and I am fluent in two more languages.

But stop diverting the topic here. We praise Rumi poems not his figure (in any case, even his figure was amazing. Now even Hollywood is going to make a movie about his great life and Leonardo di Caprio will star it. Just when a Pashtun will receive such great honor. Mullah Omar and Hekmatyar don't count lmao).

Please, answer this: Prophet Muhammad (SAW) married Aisha when she was only 6.. according your logic he should not be loved nor praised.. am I correct?

Hollywood also made the movie 300.

The subject is Rumi's sexual deviancy. Not prophet muhammed. Issue of age of Aisha ra is already discussed and answered previously on numerous threads in this section of the forum.

300 was originally a comic book not a movie. They just adopted it into a movie.

You are beating around the bush abit. Isn't your justification here for calling him such names merely based on the actions of other people in the ere?

Surely you must have some direct references instead of saying "...will find plenty of evidence in Rumi's own poems and his biographies". have you come across any? if so let us know a few.

This thread and post is nothing more than sensationalism and vulgar accusations which are based on nebulous references and vacuous assumptions.

Mawlana Rumi was a WALI of Allah, numerous accounts of his life reveal his notoriety for piety and upholding the Law of Islam; No reliable account reveal him to have had any lewd or inappropriate conduct. He was also a family man, who loved his wife and children. A lotharios are not characterized by such a life. He should be spoken of with great respect and reverence; and such allegations should be approached with scrutiny, especially based on such obscure and vague references as contained here. Furthermore Mawlana Rumi was a sincere lover of Prophet Muhammad(saw) and devotee to the Path of Muhammad(saw), he advocated being steadfast to his Sunnah and lived by that example in his life. There's no evidence that he did anything that contradicted the Sunnah of Nabi(saw).

Someone who truly admires Rumi(ra); reveres the source of Rumi- Our Beloved Nabi Muhammad(saw). Making disparaging remarks about Nabi(saw) while claiming to defend Rumi(ra) shows lack of reverence for Both Rumi(ra) and Nabi(saw) and reveal their defense is of their own Closet Ethnocentrism and don't genuinely care for Rumi(ra) at all. And those who attack Rumi(ra) do not sincerely care for Islam or Nabi(saw); To make such crude attacks, on a Wali no less , and especially during Ramadan shows they do not revere Islam but follow a religion of sensationalism.

Tasawwouf is 'Ilm Al Ruhaniyyah, the Science of the Spirit, the Sciences of the Nature of the Soul and how to rectify it. It is a legitimate Islamic field; accepted by the Ahl Al Sunnah Wal Jam'ah.Even Ibn Jawzi (ra) knew and understood this and books like Tablees Iblis, were to admonish those who deviated from the correct Tasawwouf. Not Tasawwouf itself. Ibn Jawzi (ra) became a follower of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani(ra). So people citing him to attack Tasawwouf are ignorant of what he actually taught.

The "Wahhabis" of today are just Modern Versions of the Khawarij, and they have existed for centuries. Their agenda has always been the same; to promote their shallow understanding.

The Poetry of the Sufis never advocate lewdness or indecency; they are descriptions of SPIRITUAL LOVE manifest through deep bonds between those who Seek Allah(swt). The expressions of love between men are Spiritual Bonds and not sexual. Those who try to portray it otherwise only project what's really in THEIR own hearts, not the hearts of the Sufis.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."
