hey sister, I dont knock you for wearing it. Do whatever makes you happy and safe! If you feel it is necessary in the environment you are in, by all means.Originally posted by -Gulalai View Posti think he means scarf as in just a look hijab lol
& @Amir..
hijab isn't just a scarf
hijab is inside and out lol
it covers the awrah and keeps us pure.
wearing hijab keeps us safe from eyes of random men off the street.
youre absolutely right. a womans eyes says it all. you can see her soul through em lolOriginally posted by eyeliner View Postmodesty lies in the eyes not the scarf, your head maybe covered but not your eyes
AbsolutelyOriginally posted by MazloomYarMasud View PostThere is nothing Pashtun about Burqas.
Burqas is just a cultural trait of the Bedion Arabs of Arabia.
Look into the Past, I have not seen one Photo, one painting or any other source whereby a Pashtun women is in a Burqa.
Men who forcibly make their women cover themselves are insecure within themselves.
If you care so much for your fellow Pashtana, then educate her and make her feel proud that she is Pashtun and teach her right from wrong which accepted by all, then teach her family code and ethnics and then u wont get problems.
Kind Regards

We always tend to mix tradition with religion. There is no concept of Burqa in Islam nor that other "lagaam" the arabs use over the mouths of their women. Hijaab if you ask anyone who has studied arabic is not a noun it is a verb or an act. And the verse right before the one that mandates "hijab" for women mandates men should lower their gaze/sight. If men did that, truly there would be no need for that tent over women, now would there?
Hijaab/Burqa etc has become a part of the pakhtun society sadly because of the Arabinization of the Pakhtun culture. This is a serious threat by these ignorant Arabs who are threatening our lifestyle. Sadly there are many Pakhtuns who are falling into this trap thinking Arab culture is Islam and vice versa.
Modesty and respect have nothing to do with what you wear. If you listen to the way the arabs say about "hijab" they think that if a woman exposes her hand men will molest them...sadly not all men are like arabs who will do that, we are a proud nation who respect our women and Arabinization is polluting our minds to think otherwise.
Look at what the Talibs did in Swat, putting Burqas on little girls going to school. It was made compulsory on girls going to primary school... PRIMARY SCHOOL!!!!! Only a sick and polluted mind will think about sex and a child..... or getting aroused by one.... but sadly the Burqa has made its way into our once liberal and respectful Pakhtun society... thank you Arabs!Last edited by laevanay; 08-05-2010, 07:10 PM.From the creator of www.pakhtun.com and its web forum Da Pukhtano Majlas the complete Pakhtun website!!!

Great! we have another ranting pashtun nationalist here teaching us Islam.
Tell me, do you think that women were wearing full veils before the prophet muhammad saww ordered his wives and daughters to do so? Or are you implying that a prophet ordered the women to do so because of his own cultural preference?
I am always interested to know how these Pashtun Nationalists get their information from. Because as of lately, it seems it is almost a prerequisite for a Pashtun Nationalist to be an expert on Islam.
Each and every one of you knows more about Islam than anybody else.[SIZE="4"][B][CENTER][URL="www.quranawsunnat.com"]www.quranawsunnat.com
