Is the current Islamic state in Iraq a real Islamic state? Is this what a Islamic state will look like if it was established the world over? How many muslims would actually choose to live in such a Islamic state?

IS is a perfect Islamic or Islamist state. You have raised a very pertinent point. This will be a state if Islamism prevail and politically occupy a piece of the land like we see in Iraq and Syria.

This is on the perfect model of the early Islamic state. All non Muslims or sects like the ones who denied to pay zakat were completely wiped out. Except few non Muslims in a very limited number in few pockets, we do not see non Muslims in the early areas occupied by Arabs on the name of Islam.

All kinds of non Islamic practices like sculpture, music, dance, radio, TV, Cinema etc will be completely banned. Focus will be on dictatorship,war booty, enslaving women, veil for women, circumscion, beards and not on democracy, development, science, technology, modern education, human rights etc.

Without the punishment for apostasy, islam would not have survived until today my friend, several high ranking scholars have publicly admitted such a thing. There is enough justification from the Quran and the prophet's actions as recorded in the hadiths to go ahead and say that yes, shariah can only be established through the use of weapons and fear.

Also, ISIS doesn't necessarily kill and murder innocent civilians, they first give them the choice of paying the jizya (which is often very burdensome for poor iraqi farmers in the north) and this option is only offered to the christians since shias are automatically considered as apostates and killed. If they can't pay the jizya, they're either enslaved or run away from what is considered muslim land.

Anyway in my opinion the devoutness and piety to god is very related to wealth which is why people in the poorer muslim countries like afghanistan or pakistan are a lot more devoted to god whereas places like turkey or iran which are moderately rich have a large percentage of the population that is simply 'culturally' muslim if not publicly agnostic.

The people of ISIS are living exactly the way Muhammad and his followers lived and envisioned.

To answer your question. Yes, it is an Islamic state, and no it wont look like that if established worldwide.

The reason it is an Islamic state.
Firstly, because there is no specific requirement to what is 'needed' to become an Islamic state. Basically any state that base themselves of Islam, can be considered an 'Islamic stat'. Yet, it doesn't mean it is a good state or even more importantly the only way to become 'Islamic state'. Simply put, it is one of million possibilities.

To give you an example in terms of democracy.
Is Iraq or Afghanistan democracy? Yes, they are. Are they the ideal democracy? obviously not. Same thing goes for ISIS and their 'Islamic state'. Basically, just because something can be classified as something, doesn't mean it is in its good or ideal form.
Like democracy isn't in its ideal form in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Russia, Ukraine etc.
Same goes for Islamic state. It is not in its ideal form in ISIS, Iran, Taliban, Al queda etc.

Like anything else, there can be a good Islamic state and bad ones. The same way, there can be good democracies and bad ones.

There was no "golden age". A regurgitation and archiving of greek references and thought by Arabs and the overwhelming amount of work contributed by Persians does not constitute for a golden age. They were riding on the coattails of the romans and sassanids - sure a few good things came from it but it had little to do with Islam being the state religion. Shariah law was not even enforced in places like Al-Andalus given that you had even caliphs drinking wines and alcohol, in fact it was a lot more decadent then than it is now in a lot of muslim countries.

1. Go and live in the Islamic State
2. Go and fight for the Islamic State
3. If they are not able to do so, provide any sort of financial aid to them
4. Promote their image and inform other muslims to do steps 1-4

Think for yourself for ones. I just commented that there is no such thing as 'perfect' Islamic state, and even stated that ISIS does not represent a good Islamic state, or as you put it ''perfect'' state. Yet, you quote me and state that ISIS is perfect Islamic stat and present it as fact, without presenting any sources/prove.

Now without me or anyone else saying anything, don't you think yourself, what you just did was plain stupid? I don't know why you hate Islam, but stop being unreasonable and even more importantly, stop commenting with stupid and nonfactual statements.
