Is there any Muslim who does not belong to any sect? If yes then name him/her, if no then it means according to the above verse of the Holy Quran there is no one as Muslim .
I think schools of thought like Jafaris, Hanafis, malikis, Sufis are understandable and unavoidable and they are also peaceful but political divisions like Sunnis, Shias, Wahabis etc are very dangerous as they have zero tolerance for each other and kill each other like animals.
To resolve the issue of Sunni-Shia, the easiest solution is to accept Shias as the 5th school of thought and consider Imam Jafar Sadiq , the teacher of Imam Abu Hanifa, as the fifth Imam along with 4 Sunni Imams.

what practical solution do you have for dealing with sectarianism? What should we do to get rid of sectarianism?Originally posted by Ibrahim Khan View PostALLAH says,

'Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects - you, [O Muhammad], are not [associated] with them in anything. Their affair is only [left] to Allah ; then He will inform them about what they used to do.' (Quran 6:159)
'[Adhere to it], turning in repentance to Him, and fear Him and establish prayer and do not be of those who associate others with Allah[Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has.'(Quran 30:32)
Look what Allah and see what we Jahils do. Calling each other kafirs - shias, sunnis, wahabis, sufis or whatever else have you. Tubah ubasai!
Who is right Imam Jafri or Ibn Taymiyyah, I do not know but for one thing I am sure is that neither can compare to Allah!
As the Kalimah states: "La illah il Allah, Muhammad ur rasool Allah". Belief in Allah and his slave is all that is required to be Muslim. So please stop this nonsense of Sectarianism and UNITE !!!
Muhammad (saw) said:
"No man accuses another man of being a sinner, or of being a kafir, but it reflects back on him if the other is not as he called him.''
(Bukhari, Book of Ethics; Book 78, ch. 44)
PLEASE I BEG OF YOU, ISLAM IS UNDER ATTACK AND WE ARE DIVIDED BY LABELS. UNITE UNDER THE KALIMAH !!! IF YOU HEAR ANY MUSLIM CALLING ANOTHER MUSLIM A KAFIR CORRECT HIM AND DO NOT FOLLOW HIM FOR HE IS IGNORANTOriginally posted by FirdousiNever talk with Afghans about politics. All their political knowledge is limited to conspiracy theories, political demonization and contradictions. No logic, no reason.

Can you be more specific and practical? Spreading love and peace and stopping to hate are all great things. But they are just slogans.Originally posted by Ibrahim KhanPlease everyone forget about this pre-existing hatred. Ponder on what Allah says! Our kalimah is one and yet we fight!
Mandela said "No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."
Let us unite under this LOVE. Allah is Al-Wadud the Loving One!
We can change the world. It has been done before and it can be done
Spread Love and Peace! One Allah, One Last Prophet, One Quran and One Ummah !
Social, political and cultural problem solving takes more than just inspiring chants and slogans.
Do you have any practical solution for us?Last edited by Shamlawar Khurasani; 02-24-2014, 11:43 AM.Originally posted by FirdousiNever talk with Afghans about politics. All their political knowledge is limited to conspiracy theories, political demonization and contradictions. No logic, no reason.

This is the practical solution. Call it school of thought not sect. You cannot avoid differences of opinion. You cannot do away with sectarianism by slogans as Shamlawar says.Originally posted by Badlun View PostIs there any Muslim who does not belong to any sect? Follow the examples of Sufis like Naqashbandis, Chishtis etc or Hanafis, Malikis who have difference of opinion but do not kill each other.
Take Shias as Jafaris and consider their Imam Jafar Sadiq like one of the Imams of Sunnis.
Ahle Hadith or Salafis say that they do not believe in sects but they themselves became a sect.

until we are politically united, we can never be united in religion. There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

The emergence of sects in Islam was prophecized:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever among you lives after I am gone will see a great deal of dissent.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (4067)
It was narrated from Mu’aawiyah ibn Abi Sufyaan (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stood among us and said: “Those who came before you of the people of the Book split into seventy-two sects, and this ummah will split into seventy-three: seventy-two in Hell and one in Paradise, and that is the jamaa’ah (main body of Muslims).”
So the ones who believe that we can get rid of all sects and unite are obviously not aware of the fact that division is inevitable.
The Prophet sal allahu alayhi wasalam also taught us how to follow the correct path and not fall into misguidance of sects:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) described the saved group as the jamaa’ah, i.e., the consensus of the Muslim scholars. In other reports he also described them as “the vast multitude”, as in the hadeeth of Abu Umaamah and others which is recorded by Ibn Abi ‘Aasim in al-Sunnah (1/34) and al-Tabaraani in al-Mu’jam al-Kabeer (8/321), with an isnaad that is hasan li ghayrihi (hasan because of corroborating evidence).
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also described them in the following terms: “My ummah will split into seventy-three sects, all of whom will be in Hell except one group.” They said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allaah? He said: “(Those who follow) that which I and my companions follow.” This is mentioned in the hadeeth of ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr which was recorded and classed as hasan by al-Tirmidhi (2641). It was also classed as hasan by al-‘Iraaqi in Ahkaam al-Qur’aan (3/432), al-‘Iraaqi in Takhreej al-Ihya’ (3/284) and al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
This is the clearest sign that the Muslim can use to determine what is the saved group, so he should follow the way of the majority of scholars, those whom all the people testify are trustworthy and religiously-committed, and he should follow the way of the earlier scholars among the Sahaabah, Taabi’een and the four Imams and other scholars, and he should beware of every sect that differs from the main body of Muslims (jamaa’ah) by following innovation (bid’ah).
The solution is not to unite with misguided people. The solution is to hold on to the core teachings of Islam regardless of what other people do.
