  • i have a question..

in this thread, i will be asking random questions related to the religion of islam from time to time.

so like...the other night, i was watching this bollywood movie that was about this woman who got divorced from her husband and then a couple of years later, her shallow husband decided that he wanted her back after all and she who was even shallower than him, was contemplating getting back together with that loser... the delima there was that in order for them to do that, she had to be married and have consummated that marriage with another man and then be divorced from him so she could be back with her first husband... i am sure the procedure is common knowledge to most of us who have been victims of religious indoctrination at a young age but having strayed of that path has left me with a sudden confusion and lack of understanding as to why that step is required of two individuals who have been married before and are willing to get back together.
how i see it is that if these two individuals want to mend that relationship, not only should it be encouraged, it should also be made easier for them. and if there is fear of them not taking that relationship more seriously, there should be a solution less revolting than what is already provided out there and stuff like that...

do you really need to question archaic 6th century cultural traditions? Just accept that its nonsense and move on

well.. unlike you, i am genuinely willing to accept an explanation before i toss certain ideas out of my book of how things ought to be... i will hear their stand and THEN if it does not make sense to me, i will get rid of it.

that is not how you spell dilemma..

From my understanding it is to discourage frivolity and kneejerk reaction. Marriage is not something to be trivialised and neither is divorce. So should there be an argument between a husband and wife (which could happen from time to time) it means HE doesn't proclaim divorce and she doesn't go running to her parent's house. The consequence for rushing into decisions might not be good.

The answer to that question is a simple one. If you broke with someone and they want to get back with you, their only motive is revenge, so don't be stupid to think that a scorpion will suddenly become a dove.

That is my bleak view of humanity and I stand by it.

What you are talking about is Halala. It is a practice widely spread in South Asia.

As mentioned before, the reason why one cannot marry his wife after divorcing her is to prevent people from abusing the authority to initiate a divorce by men, and it prohibits people from taking divorce and marriage lightly.

However, people have invented halala to circumvent the prohibition.

In case a man dumps his wife and then regrets it, he is no longer aloud to marry her. Halala would be still considered a sin.

If both, the man and the woman still want to get together, they should need to find a proper judge, that is proper scholar, who is authorized to give a specific fatwa suitable for the situation of the couple.

But it highly unlikely that a real scholar permits them to get together again. Because scholars look at the condition of the man and woman. If they seem as total losers, I doubt that any sincere scholar would give a fatwa in their favour.

At then end of the day, it is up to the couple. If they want to get married again, they can find alternative ways witout having to pimp the wife.

                  okay, I have another one.
Why was Islam not revealed in the beginning of time when God made Adam as?? Islam being the perfect religion was left to the very last while other ibrahimic religions were revealed prior to it..what was the point of that??

Adam was not just the father of mankind, but is considered one of the 28 Prophets of Islam mentioned in the Qu'ran (out of roughly 120,000 prophets in total)

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not proselytize a new message, but was sent to reaffirm to messages what the other Prophets were saying. since their followers changed the messages.

There is no such thing as "Ibrahimic religions" Ibrahim, Moses, Yeshua (among others) were the messengers of Islam.

Christianity, Judaism and the like are the corrupted names of Islam.

What are zaboor, injeel and tawraat then?? Why was Quran sent down so recently in comparison?? What was revealed to them shouldn't be corrupted, what people turned it in to over time could have been corrupted. And if what they taught was corrupted versions of Islam, can it not be that bits and pieces of Islam be found in those books?? Quran want jotted down by the prophet himself, how much of that is corrupted?

Those were the books like the Qu'ran, yes. but in reality, it was Islam (The central theme is Allah is the one God).

The Qu'ran was sent down 1,500 years ago, not so recent in human time, but time is not of essence in cosmos.

What was revealed to them was not corrupted by the Prophets, but their followers.

lets take the example of The Children of Israel,

Allah gave them Moses who gave them the Torah. The Israelites were just horrible people from the start: worshipping an idol when Moses didn't return in time. Refusing to fight for the land of Israel because they were scared and so forth

Their rabbi's started to corrupt the religion over time, by picking and choosing what they wanted/didn't want to follow. they also killed the other Israelite prophets that were sent to them one after another. The Rabbis also created The Talmud, which is the book some/most Jews follow instead of the Torah.

in the case of the Bible

the Romans, with the collaborations of the Jews changed it. that is why 'Christianity" is a mixture of Roman mythology and other myths.

in the case of the Qu'ran,

Well God promises that the versus will remain intact, but didn't promise that the people won't fuk it up (in the cases of the sects and so forth).

The old and new testament are still a must read for Muslims. it's still filled with good insights of the teachings of the Hebrew prophets.

You should also read up on the "Dead Sea Scrolls". it's from a community of believers who separated from the Jews, because they believed they were corrupt (which they were)

Yes, the Prophet didn't write the Qu'ran down, but most of the people had the verses memorized. And the Prophet would know if someone was reciting a verse incorrectly and would correct them.

It was decided to write it down, after the victory battle of Yamamah. where the forces of Abu Bakr fought a hard bloody battle with Musaylimah. a man who claimed Prophet hood.

The muslims lost a lot of Hafiz (people who memorized the Qu'ran) in that battle. so it was decided to be written down to preserve it.

I am not really interested in what people did. God made them, they are faulty, bla bla bla. If Israelis did this or that, Muslims didn't remain very noble either.. That is a different argument. I still don't understand why Quran was not revealed in the beginning of time. He sent prophet after prophet with different books and now all of a sudden you are supposed to forget everything else and believe this one.. WHY?? Had he sent Quran in the beginning, there wouldn't be so much of kufaar and kufur to fight.
Or maybe he knew that it is not about religion and regardless of what order the books would have been revealed in, people would be fighting each other anyways.
Islam is suppose to be the religion of peace but look around. Is there people of any other religion who have been as conflicted and in war with each other an for as long as Muslims??
Islam has become ten time more corrupted than other religions out there. But that too is not my question.

Te Quran was put together by people who had it memorized after he passed away.

You seem to switch your questions around a lot. compile a list of questions.

The Qu'ran was put together in book form by his close companions after the results of Yamamah, yes like I mentioned.

Most of your questions are really directed towards God.

Islam isn't corrupted, but Muslims are. you should know the difference, yet that statement is ripped from an Islamophobe.

War is the same playing field as peace. There's nothing wrong with peace, so at the end of the day there is nothing wrong with war. War is a blessing most people don't understand since their scope is limited. Their sight only thinks peace is a blessing since it's an obvious presence.

If God was to have sent the Qu'ran in the beginning than he might as well have never removed Adam and Eve from Eden, or had Ibless refuse to recognize Adam.

I believe from what you are saying is What Is the Purpose of Life? Is it just to pray to him and all the other things you have to do, and when its all said and over you go to Heaven or Hell. and so what is the whole point of that? Why do some people get to go to Heaven while others Hell, when everyone is human and both erred.

I have had this conversation several times with my cousins, but its hard to discuss this in writing as it is better to discuss this topic in-person to better communicate your thoughts with each other.
