    Asalaam'ualaykum wahrahmatullahi wa'barakatuhu!!!

Here's a link to one of the greatest biographies written on the greatest man. It's very famous and well known. Also, from what I've read so far, it's fantastic. I've been wanting to get hold of this for a while, so Alhamdolilah, I luckily happened to stumble across it. I just wish I had it in physical form!!! Khair. I'd strongly urge others to check it out.

Wa 'alaykum Salaam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh

I like the edit Guely ... couldn't help but smile ...

As for the share, despite the widespread argument against the author, I've never fell for it, and possess a hard copy myself. I made it a habit about four years ago to read it every night, a good ten to twenty pages. We had a flight in between, and I sat there, while the entire family slept (as we had a sleepless night), and I was reading the Chapter on Isra and Mi'raaj until we arrived back to Perth's dead and tiny airport. Remember it like yesterday. Good times.

          Allah reward you Graane.

@Guley, thx for sharing. will read it inshallah.
I have Martin Lings Seerah. It is very short concise and it has some bits and pieces are different.

I would advice anyone not to read Martin Lings. Scholars have warned against this book because of the inaccuracies.

I try to follow the methodology of the pious predecessors in matters of religion. And the pious predecessors did not share or spread inaccurate information in matters of religion.

                    So, no! I wont share.

While I agree with your former statement, I thought I should add that by now, I am able to distinguish between inaccuracies and authentic sources. I am weary of who I learn from and what they have to say. Learning and accepting the content of doubtful sources is one thing, and reading, exploring and broadening my horizons is another. =)

but which version / updated book did they say this was in? I've read the book twice and for some reason I don't remember them talking about Abu Talib reading the kalima...I know you said another person found these ..but I am just wondering which version it was in regards to...

and Guley.. walaikum salaam and thanks for sharing, like abu bakr I love hard copies and I've been reading through it slowly ( a little too slowly).

                              Youe're all welcome.

I prefer hardback's too, which is why I've ordered one, too much staring at the screen hurts my eyes too. But those who don't mind reading books on a computer, or who haven't yet got a copy, or can't get hold of one, could use this InshAllah.
