Stoning to death is a highly barbaric crime. It is cruelty against humanity in general. I consider it a biggest crime committed by the authorities of a savage state. Most of the time, the entire rubble of the adultery falls on the woman. And what makes it highly despicable is the way women are victimized for the crimes that are not possible without the help of men. Men put women into prostitution and then men stone her to death. Why was General Reza Zarei, the police chief in Iran, not stonned to death in 2008 when he was caught with six naked prostitutes in an underground brothel in Tehran? What kind of a Justice System are we talking about?

Exactly! Actions speak louder than words. And many people consider them as TRUE muslims. The world also considers them muslims.

These are the main problems due to which it is really difficult to have an islamic state where islamic laws can be implemneted.
Therefore it is useless to announce such types of punsihments at this stage.
Babaric at all. I dont believe, somethings can be happen worse than that in other cultures and religions.
however religious laws can be implemented where that relgion is in practice in other walks of life as well, as to make the gorunds sutiable for practicing and not committing the crimes.

I support the proper implemention of Shari3a law, but only in Muslim countries. However, I don't have extensive knowledge on the issue of stoning.

You think stoning is an Islamic initiated practice?

          In the Bible:

"If a man is found sleeping with another man's wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die." (Deuteronomy 22: 22)

''If a man commits adultery with another man's wife-with the wife of his neighbor-both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death" (Leviticus 20: 10).

"A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads." (Leviticus 24 -New International Version)

21 ''She shall be brought to the door of her father's house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death.'' (Leviticus 20 )

It was neither the Prophet nor the Glorius Qur'an, which began this form of capital punishment.

The offense must be proven by voluntary confession, or four witnesses, who must under oath, say they witnessed the crime. Only after the legal procedure is the sentance given.

*However, there is no sin that is unforgiveable*, (except suicide, since you can't repent for it once your dead).

I need to do some more reading..

That doesn't mean anything, they're a minority, compare them with the rest of the 2 billion Muslims.

It doesn't really matter what people consider. The Taleban say and do a lot of things, whoever takes them seriously enough to believe everything they say, clearly needs to do a little more researching. Taleban do not speak or represent the word of God, i.e. Islam.

Guley, Stoning to death is an ancient form of execution. I never said it was initiated by Islam considering the fact that Judaism and Christianity are older than Islam. I deplore this act in wholeness for its utter barbarism--regardless of the fact whether it is Jewish or Islamic. I will focus on Islam since contmeprory cases of Stoning to death have their origin from Muslim states.

My major and ONLY concern is the injustice extended to the offender through this form of capital punishment. Also, a great amount of bias is shown towards women when a crime involves both man and woman.
I would quote an example Zhila Izadyar, a 13 year old Iranian girl who was raped by her 15 year old brother and she became pregnant with his child. Thanks to the international pressure at that time, the Iranian govt. changed the punishment to some 150 lashes. Her health deteriorated afterwards in the solitary confinement and nature would be really cruel to her if she is still alive.

As a conscious human (not as a law expert), I think there are more reasons to believe that Zhila was innocent in the entire crime and that her brother being older and a man belonging to partriarchial soceity would be the main offender in this crime. Yet she was the one who suffered more than him for a crime not even committed by her.

The modern man that you see today is the highly civilized form of his prehistoric counterpart. Human soceities have progressed and are still in progress; Jews and Christians have realized that this form of execution are acts of barbarism and hence you would hardly hear anything of this sort from them. But the muslims have not moved an inch yet. I highly appreciate western countries for making an outcry of this issue every time some muslim country rewards its citizen with this punishment.

I would criticize any justice system which is not fair and this particular act of barbarism against minor girls aged as young as 7 years and deserves my reprobation in all cases.

Women were stonned to death in Mazar Sharif. It does mean a lot to me at least, if not to the 2 billion Muslims.

It is what you or I would think but not what is SEEN or witnessed by the sinful eyes. You would say that Talibans are imposing a harsh brand of Islam and Islam is a peaceful religion but at the end of the day, they represent Muslims, not Jews or Hindus. And they are doing it for the same God that all other Muslims pray to 5 times a day.
This reminds me of the famous quote by the respectable Martin Luther King:

"INJUSTICE anywhere is a THREAT to JUSTICE everywhere".

anyone who has not committed any sin can do it.....but there is no single person in this whole world however big follower of Islam who has not committed a sin....
is there any one who follows hadiths and sharia completely....
people talk so much about following sunnat......do u have only 2 sets of clothes which is said that we should have......do u eat food half stomach or till ur stomach and heart are full... please follow shariah and sunna in little things of everydaylife then we talk about stoning people to death...
eye for an eye....hand for a hand but greater than all this is forgiveness..

The people arguing for stoning or lashes as an islamic punishment must know that these punishments are only valid if a pair do the sexual intercourse at bus stop. To do sexual intercourse at home is not punishable here as per Quran, and ya if someone accepts it without any pressure then also punishable. If the other way round then All Mullahs of islamic madraasahs are punsibale as most of them homosexual and islamic madrassahs are the big centres and they must be stoned first. But they cannot be because witnesses are not there as they do it just in their rooms not at the bus stop.

four witnesses who saw the pair performing sexual intercourse. It is mentioned clearly how they must see them. otherwise just kissing hugging etc is not punishable with lashes or stoning or just to see a woman or man ging t some one room etc are no way punishable. One can raise the question that medical screening can prove it but it is punishable because of being a social crime therefore need four witnesses.

for how long does the witness have to witness the act? and can they watch it together or like each should be in each corner of the room, also if they touch themselves are they officially perverts?
We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

If I agree with you we w'd both be wrong.

Remember stoning is only for adultery meaning married people having sex not unmarried poeple. That's fornication which is somethingn like 100 lashes each.
accepting your grotesque logic that having an affair justifies death....stoning? really? are we really gonna pretend that stoning is not a barbaric punishment...a relic of an archair and brutal past?

                        really? stoning? lol

Stoning someone to death is NOT an Islamic concept or practice. Islam abrogated this practice.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

I know. They are just as ignorant as those who use these ahadith to mean that stoning to death is still valid.

It is sad that Muslims are singlehandedly guilty for bring misunderstanding to the Quran.

There is no where in the Quran where stoning to death is mentioned. Stoning to death is still valid for those Jews who believe that the Torah has not been abrogated.

As I mentioned earlier, the Prophet (saw) used the Jewish Laws for the Jews.

Those who would like to disagree with me please bring me one incident from the time of Hadhrat Muhammad (saw) where he prescribed stoning to death for someone after it had been abrogated.
