What is the meaning of Al-Kauthar?
On the day of Judgement, mankind and jinn will have waited thousands of years for the judgement to begin. When the people will have waited for so long in the intense heat of the sun, the most welcoming and refreshing sight to them, like an oasis in the desert, will be the pond of AlKauthar, the pond of Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. We learn from the authentic ahadith that AlKauthar is square in shape, with two pipes feeding into it from Jannah. Its length is like the distance of travel between Medina and Sanaa in Yemen. Its water is whiter than ice, sweeter than honey and more aromatic than musk. It has cups like hollowed out pearls and they number as many as the number of stars in the sky. The one who drinks from it will never be thirsty again and when people drink more, it will only be out of pure pleasure. At the pond of AlKauthar, the people of the truth will be separated from the people of falsehood.
Such is the vision of AlKauthar Institute. My respected brothers and sisters in Islam, from one of the most amazing attributes of Allah Subhan o’ Watallah, is his attribute of knowledge. The fact that Allah subhan o’ wa taalah will know everything that will be, everything that was, everything that would have been. Allah’s knowledge is not preceded by ignorance, like ours. It is neither superseded by forgetfulness like our knowledge; Allah does not forget or neither there was a time where he did not know. From the completeness of the knowledge of Allah subhan o’ wa’tallah is his knowledge that will be until the Day of Judgment and beyond, inshahAllah. Allah subhan o wa tallah is ‘alim-ul-ghaib’ is the one that knows the unseen. He does not let anyone know about the “unseen” (ghaib), except the angles and the messengers he sent to this world. So, from this unseen knowledge that Allah shared with Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), is Bukhari hadith: “Once he led the fajr prayer, and afterwards gave a khutbah (sermon) until duhr time (~7-8 hours), then he prayed duhr, then gave khutbah until asr, and talked until maghrib prayers. The companions report that in that day he mentioned every single thing that will happen to this ummah until the Day of Judgment. He mentioned every single thing he could remember until the Day of Judgment: from the leaders that will rule, from the disaster that will take place, in that day.” So, from these prophecies of the prophet, we find that prophet had prophesized many things that will happen to this ‘ummah, for example the hadith of the “mua-qil-dul’hajj”, these prophecies are very amazing, the prophet mentioned: tauqeet and niqat- where people make the intention loudly and then they go off to hajj and umrah. From these places that prophet made niqat (intention) of were zul-halafa for people of medina, then he made qal-manazil for the people of hijaz, and alumnum for people of Yemen, Juhfa for the people of Shaam (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Parts of Turkey, and Palestine) and also zaat-ul-Irq for the people of Iraq. Now my question to you is: were there Muslims in Shaam and Iraq during that time? No. Who was is Iraq at that time? The furs. In sham there were Romans-Christians. So, subhanAllah, prophet from this hadith prophesized that there will be Muslims in Shaam, and so he left for them a Niqat (Intention) as well, subhanAllah. His prophecies are that Islam will win. The future is for Islam. Allah has written 50,000 years before the earth and the heavens were created Allah wrote in the looh-ih-mahfooz that Allah and his messengers will win, that Muslims are the ultimate winners. The prophet also said that there always be a group in the ummah who will always be seeking the truth, and no one can harm them, and they will be on this truth until the amar of Allah comes, (the amar is a smoke from Yemen which will take the souls away).
From these prophecies of prophet Muhammad (PBUH), there will be a man by the name of Muhammad Ibn Abdulla, from lineage of Fatima (RA), this man will come and lead this Ummah, and he will raise the Ummah to the depths that we have put ourselves in. This is the prophecy we will discuss today: Who is the Mahdi, What is the Mahdi?
Mahdi, comes from the word “Huda”—the guidance. Mahdi is someone who has Allah done Huda upon or guided, so Mahdi is the person who is guided. The word Mahdi is a characteristic of being guided. His name will not be Mahdi, it is just a characteristic of that person. The Mahdi will never say, he is the Mahdi, he will never claim to be the Mahdi, that is one of the true signs of the Mahdi, the greatest liars said they were “the Mahdi”, that is one of the signs that the oolema used, to confer that you are not the Mahdi.
Prophet said in a hadith: the people after me are just about to meet, imaman (he will be guided), Mahdian (he will be guided), and a hakamah (he will be a leader). In a hadith by Muawiyah, Oh Allah make him a righteous man, guided man, make him guided, and guided by him. Here the ‘Uleema have two separate opinions: a) they consider the idea of Mahdi to be a figment of imagination (of shia), someone who is not real, and that is why the shia have made a picture of him and associated him with the false hadiths of prophet and prophecies given by the prophet Muhammad. (said by ibn Khudoom in his book Muqadmaa, Muhammad Rashid Ruda). Why did they say that? First, there is no verse (aya’) in the Qur’an, no hadith on Mahdi by Bukhari and Muslim, which states his name, and this is true because there no hadith that directly says his name. There is no specific, clear, concise statement in Bukhari and Muslim about the Mahdi. This is because Bukhari Muslim never made it upon themselves to narrate every hadiths. They had put strict conditions on themselves, and they fulfilled these conditions when recording the hadiths.
Second, the narrators on hadith about Mahdi are shia, we know that shia narrators have a very extreme opinion about the Mahdi. In reality, there are approximately 30 authentic hadiths about the Mahdi, and 16 narrations from the companions about the Mahdi. In total there are 46 authentic proofs about the Mahdi. Seven out of 30 narrators are shia, so 23 are not shia narrators. 4 out of 16 narrations are from Shia narrators, the rest of them are sunni. Most of the narrations on prophet Muhammad don’t have shia narrators.
The theory/concept of Mahdi led to a fitna in the Ummah. Which is true, some of people that claimed to be “the Mahdi” were worse than hajjad ‘bin Yusuf. Haddad ‘bin Yusuf was a very evil man, he killed the oolema, he pillaged Medina, his army raped a thousand women, and killed a thousand oolema in Medina, after which Medina will never rise again. However, this does not negate the fact, that there should be a Mahdi. Another argument the Oolema said that the Mahdi is a false ideology from the khalafat of the sufias. This is because Sufi’s have a belief in a great Imam, who is powerful, who is the leader of all things, and how heavens and the earth rotate, etc. etc. Of course, all these doubts are false! Why? Because the ahadith, the number of narrations on Mahdi have reached mutawatir proportion. Mutawatir narration is when scholars from every level come to an agreement that the narrations on the Mahdi cannot be a lie, and can trace its origin back to the prophet (PBUH). For example, the prophet raising his hands before and after the ruku. There are two benefits in this: it is obligatory to believe in the authenticity of these ahadith of Mahdi. The second benefit is that we must believe and to act according to it, it is obligatory on the Muslims.
Has the Mahdi already come? If he hasn’t come, then has he been born yet?
There are 5 people that have already come which claim to be the Mahdi. This is important so that we can benefit from these stories, so when the real Mahdi comes we don’t fall into a trap and not be mis-guided.
a. Muhamaad bin Abdullah Abi Jafir Al-Mansur- this person’s father was one of the main Khalifas. He wanted his son to be the Mahdi, so he changed his name. The father did that because there was a man at that time who was claiming to be the Mahdi, and the khalifa wanted to counteract that. He ruled over the Muslims for 11 years. He ruled in Shaam.
b. Mahdi of Maghrib- (Mahdi-al-Maghribi): Muhammad bin Abdulla Mahdi ibn thirmidi- He was a student of knowledge. He sought knowledge from Al-Ghazzali. He learned about the Mahdi and wanted to become that. He was from Jehmiya. Jehmiya are those people that don’t believe in Allah’s attributes, instead they attribute him as something negative. Because he didn’t like a certain group, he started his own political party. He was one of the worst Mahdi, he killed oolema of Muslims, he raped women, he cut babies out from stomachs of pregnant women, he used to cut breasts of women.
c. Mahdi of Sudan, Mohammad bin Abid- He was from the Sufis. He belonged to the tijani tariq. He thought it would be a good way to bring people up and started calling himself the Mahdi. He proclaimed that Prophet came to him while he was awake and said Allah will guide me and send aid for me in the battles from the heavens, and that I am better than Adam and all the prophets, and that prophet himself would come to every battle of mine and fight every battle for me. MashaAllah? Wouldn’t we all like that? The army of Egypt declared war on him and he eventually died year 1899.
d. Mahdi of Hind- Muhammad Al-Janfuri: One of the most devilsh people, he was hafiz Al-Quran and he was a student of knowledge and he found a book on Mahdi. He thought that it was a good thing to attract people. The idea of the Mahdi attracts a lot of people. He made it a mission to kill all the Oolema of Islam. This man killed so many oolema that he could not even keep count. 1910 AH, he died.
e. Mahdi of Saudi Arabia- Al-Juhaiman al-qatani: In 1979, he took over the Mecca. He attracted college students. Many people at that time wanted to join him. He killed all the people that were doing Umrah and the tawaf, and a fatwa was granted to kill him.
When people thought that they were the Mahdi, but they never claimed it?
a. Isa bin maryam: There is a hadith that says that there is no Mahdi except Isa bin Maryam. This hadith is fabricated or very ‘daaeef/very weak. However, he never claimed to be the Mahdi.
b. Umar bin Abdul Aziz: He came during a time when there were evil and bad khalifas before him and after him. He was a mercy to the Ummah, so people thought he must be the Mahdi. However, it was discovered that he is a Mahdi, but not the one that prophet rasulullah spoke of.
Has the Mahdi been born yet?
Claim A: Shias claim that Mahdi has been born already. For example, Khomenini claims that sometimes he comes out of his cave, and only few people are allowed to meet with him. Mahdi of the shia is someone that the shias believe in, in fact, in the books of the shia, Al-Kafi (it is equivalent to the Bukhari). It states his attributes like the Mahdi will be aided by the Jews, he will speak Hebrew, it is why the oolema of sunnah believe that the Mahdi of the shia is the Al-dajjal. He is not the proper Mahdi, because if you compare the attributes of Mahdi from the Sunnah to the Shia, you will find that Mahdi of the Shia will be the Dajjal.
What three events will take place, just before coming of the Mahdi?
1. There will be a peace treaty between the Muslims and the Christians. All Christian states today are in a peace treaty with the Muslims. This hadith/event has already has come true.
2. After this peace treaty will come the war of wars. The Armageddon that all the scriptures have talked about. The war of wars: the mother of all battles. The authentic sources from the hadith tell us that the Christians will join forces together with Muslims to fight a common enemy. This Armageddon is Muslims and Christians fighting against a common enemy. Who is this common enemy? Allah knows best. This Armageddon will take place in the land of Palestine. Are they the Jews? Allah knows best, because we don’t know. This battle will last for four days: The number of Christians will have 80 standards/flag. Under each stand will be 12,000 men. Approximately one million Christian men (Romans). The only way this can happen through the United Nations, the pre-emptive strike. After four days of war, the Muslims will win, and not the Christians. Because the Christians/Romans have lost, they will out of jealously attack the Muslims. This duration will take nine months. It is in this time that 3 of the children of the Khalifa in Arabia will be fighting over the throne, at that time the Mahdi will emerge, and the people will give Bayaat to him, and the army will come from Damascus to fight him and they will be swallowed by the Earth. It in this time, in between the Romans and the Muslims will fight that the Mahdi will emerge.
3. What are the authentic characteristics of Mahdi? In research there are 25. His name is similar to the prophet Muhammad SW, which is true because his name is Muhammad. His father’s name is same is the same as prophets’ father’s name, which is Abdullah. He will be from the family of Rasul (SW), he will be from the progeny of Fatima and Al-Hassan. The mother’s name will not be Amina. His head will be prominent, and a long pointed nose with a crooked edge in the middle. Allah Subhan o’ wa’tallah will prepare him in one night (will forgive him one night or one hour). This means that initially, Mahdi will not agree that he is the Mahdi. The oolema will say that he is the Mahdi and he should take the Khilafa, but he will not accept it, but Allah will change his heart in one night, and he will agree to take the kheelafat. Before his arrival, the earth will be filled with transgression and zun. After the coming of the Mahdi, the earth will be filled with goodness and justice. He will given bayat maqam al-Ibrahim, and ruqm yamani. He will rule for 7 years. After he dies, Muslims will bury him. He will come just before the last major signs of the hour. The coming of the Mahdi is not a major sign of coming of the hour. The Mahdi will bring global changes. He is from the lesser signs of the hour. In fact, his coming is the last of lesser signs of the hour. After that, the major signs will come in quick succession (Dajjal will come straight away, Isa will come straight away, Gog and Magog will come straight away, the sun will rise from the west, the beast of Kaa’ba will come out). It may be that all these things might happen in a length of one day, (according to one hadith), but Allah knows best. An army with black standards will come from the direction of Khursan and Mahdi will be with them. The rain will be plentiful, there will be lots of crops in the land. The number of livestock. The ummah will be strong and the Mahdi will win every single war that he fights. SubhanAllah. Rome will be conquered by the Mahdi when the Romans are larger in numbers than the Muslims. Three sons of the Khalifa will fight over the throne. He will give money correctly and plenty and will not ask back for any. The dajjal will come in his time and will corner him in Damascus, and this will happen after the Muslims have won the war with the Christians. Isa (AS) will come and pray behind the Mahdi, and kill the Dajjal, and Ya jooj and Ma’jooj will come out as well. A hadith narrates that the last hour will not come, until the 12 righty guided Khalifs rule over the Ummah. Allah knows best if they have come already. An army of Muslims that will come to attack him will be swallowed by the Earth. He will be of 52 years age. The Armageddon will take place just before his time. These are the 25 authentic attributes of Mahdi that have been found in hadith of Prophet PBUH.
What happens when the Mahdi will be here?
The Mahdi will fight five wars. The first one he won’t even fight. An army of Muslims coming from Damascus will try to kill him, and while going towards Medina, there will be a huge desert al-baydah (clear, white sand desert), they will get swallowed by the earth. This is the only sure sign of the Mahdi. In fact, it is narrated that, even if Mahdi were to pass by in front your house, one should not join him in the army until this event has finished taking place. After this event, people will congregate around him. Then join him in the army. If someone ever claims to be the Mahdi then put him in a Looney-bean (means hospital in Australia). Sure Sign: look for army that gets swallowed up by the earth in a desert called al-baydah.
After this event, the khalifs, scholars will declare him as the Mahdi, first he will deny, but then Allah in one night will cure his rejection (accept the ‘bayaa”).
1. First battle, he will conquer Arabia. This is because the Arabians don’t want him to be the Mahdi. This is politics. This is because Arabians don’t want to lose their peninsula. It is like politics. 2. The Mahdi will take over Arabia. A hadith narrates that “the hour will not come until you take over the land of the Arabs (which is the Arabian Peninsula)”. 3. Then afterwards, he will fight the “furs”, Iran, maybe Shia’s, Allah knows best. 4. After Iran, he will fight the Romans, and Allah will give you victory. This battle is to be taken at Amaq and Dabigh which are between Syria and Ankara, Turkey. The forces will gather in Syria afterwards and Muslims believe that this will definitely happen. Mahdi will send best of his warriors to this battle and Banu Ishaq (from a group Banu Ishaq-ul-salun of from Christian army that will join the Muslims) The reason for this battle will be that Christians will say we don’t want to fight you Muslims, but only this group that has left us. The Muslims will say that we will never leave our brothers. The battle will start when a man from the Christians will say, “We have won”, and a Muslim soldier will kill him. The battle will last 7 days. It will be so intense that a bird flying will not be able to pass except being shot down. This battle will be the greatest battle the world has known. And during the battle 1/3 of the Muslims will run away, and they are the traitors, the munafiqeen, and Allah will never forgive them. Then a 1/3 will die, they are best of the suhada. 1/3 will win over the Romans. 5. Then you will fight the Dajjal and Allah will give you victory. After Muslims have won over the Romans, an angle will come to Mahdi and tell him that the Dajjal has come. At that time, the Mahdi will send 10 of the most ferocious Muslim warriors. The prophet hadith narrates that “Wall’lahi, I know their colors, names, face and height and everything about them.” When Mahdi is going to fight the Dajjal, he will be cornered in Damascus, at which time Isa bin Maryam will come down and Mahdi will lead him in prayer and then Isa will take care of the Dajjal, alhumdulillah.
Points to be noted: a. Mahdi will never call him the Mahdi, nor call others to “Mahdiship”/Mahdawiyah. He will stay away from it. b. believing that a particular person is a Mahdi not from the Shahadah. If a Muslim doesn’t believe that the Mahdi is not a Mahdi, then he is still a Muslim, it is not matter of risalat. So, you’re still a Muslims if you don’t believe that the Mahdi is the Mahdi. c. We don’t need to know who the Mahdi is. We should already be fighting for Islam and we should already be struggling for this religion. We should be already working towards projects for the up liftment for Islam in UK and in the world. We don’t need to know who the Mahdi is. d. It is not permissible to say when the Mahdi is definitely coming. Because the Mahdi will come right before the definite signs of the hour/day of Judgment. To say that you know when the Mahdi is coming is transgression upon the knowledge of Allah. It is knowledge that prophet has kept away from us, and knowledge that Qur’an and Sunnah has kept quiet from us. So, to say that Mahdi has been born, he is alive now, he is doing tawaf, I saw him there are just lies and cannot be true.
In conclusion, we say that we hope that Allah brings the coming of the Mahdi close. The message today is that we should stop the coming of the Mahdi. We should prevent the coming of the Mahdi. What am I saying? We know that he will not come until the Earth is filled them transgression and zun. The only thing that we need to do for this to happen is for us to sit back and do nothing. Edmin Burke said, the only essential thing for evil to prevail in this world, is for righteous men to do nothing. It is when good men do nothing, brothers and sisters in Islam that is when evil will prevail and do something and please stop the Mahdi from coming.

(said by ibn Khudoom in his book Muqadmaa, Muhammad Rashid Ruda). Why did they say that? First, there is no verse (aya’) in the Qur’an, no hadith on Mahdi by Bukhari and Muslim, which states his name, and this is true because there no hadith that directly says his name. There is no specific, clear, concise statement in Bukhari and Muslim about the Mahdi. This is because Bukhari Muslim never made it upon themselves to narrate every hadiths. They had put strict conditions on themselves, and they fulfilled these conditions when recording the hadiths.
Second, the narrators on hadith about Mahdi are shia, we know that shia narrators have a very extreme opinion about the Mahdi. In reality, there are approximately 30 authentic hadiths about the Mahdi, and 16 narrations from the companions about the Mahdi. In total there are 46 authentic proofs about the Mahdi. Seven out of 30 narrators are shia, so 23 are not shia narrators. 4 out of 16 narrations are from Shia narrators, the rest of them are sunni. Most of the narrations on prophet Muhammad don’t have shia narrators.
The theory/concept of Mahdi led to a fitna in the Ummah. Which is true, some of people that claimed to be “the Mahdi” were worse than hajjad ‘bin Yusuf. Haddad ‘bin Yusuf was a very evil man, he killed the oolema, he pillaged Medina, his army raped a thousand women, and killed a thousand oolema in Medina, after which Medina will never rise again. However, this does not negate the fact, that there should be a Mahdi. Another argument the Oolema said that the Mahdi is a false ideology from the khalafat of the sufias. This is because Sufi’s have a belief in a great Imam, who is powerful, who is the leader of all things, and how heavens and the earth rotate, etc. etc. Of course, all these doubts are false! Why? Because the ahadith, the number of narrations on Mahdi have reached mutawatir proportion. Mutawatir narration is when scholars from every level come to an agreement that the narrations on the Mahdi cannot be a lie, and can trace its origin back to the prophet (PBUH). For example, the prophet raising his hands before and after the ruku. There are two benefits in this: it is obligatory to believe in the authenticity of these ahadith of Mahdi. The second benefit is that we must believe and to act according to it, it is obligatory on the Muslims.
Has the Mahdi already come? If he hasn’t come, then has he been born yet?
There are 5 people that have already come which claim to be the Mahdi. This is important so that we can benefit from these stories, so when the real Mahdi comes we don’t fall into a trap and not be mis-guided.
a. Muhamaad bin Abdullah Abi Jafir Al-Mansur- this person’s father was one of the main Khalifas. He wanted his son to be the Mahdi, so he changed his name. The father did that because there was a man at that time who was claiming to be the Mahdi, and the khalifa wanted to counteract that. He ruled over the Muslims for 11 years. He ruled in Shaam.
b. Mahdi of Maghrib- (Mahdi-al-Maghribi): Muhammad bin Abdulla Mahdi ibn thirmidi- He was a student of knowledge. He sought knowledge from Al-Ghazzali. He learned about the Mahdi and wanted to become that. He was from Jehmiya. Jehmiya are those people that don’t believe in Allah’s attributes, instead they attribute him as something negative. Because he didn’t like a certain group, he started his own political party. He was one of the worst Mahdi, he killed oolema of Muslims, he raped women, he cut babies out from stomachs of pregnant women, he used to cut breasts of women.
c. Mahdi of Sudan, Mohammad bin Abid- He was from the Sufis. He belonged to the tijani tariq. He thought it would be a good way to bring people up and started calling himself the Mahdi. He proclaimed that Prophet came to him while he was awake and said Allah will guide me and send aid for me in the battles from the heavens, and that I am better than Adam and all the prophets, and that prophet himself would come to every battle of mine and fight every battle for me. MashaAllah? Wouldn’t we all like that? The army of Egypt declared war on him and he eventually died year 1899.
d. Mahdi of Hind- Muhammad Al-Janfuri: One of the most devilsh people, he was hafiz Al-Quran and he was a student of knowledge and he found a book on Mahdi. He thought that it was a good thing to attract people. The idea of the Mahdi attracts a lot of people. He made it a mission to kill all the Oolema of Islam. This man killed so many oolema that he could not even keep count. 1910 AH, he died.
e. Mahdi of Saudi Arabia- Al-Juhaiman al-qatani: In 1979, he took over the Mecca. He attracted college students. Many people at that time wanted to join him. He killed all the people that were doing Umrah and the tawaf, and a fatwa was granted to kill him.
When people thought that they were the Mahdi, but they never claimed it?
a. Isa bin maryam: There is a hadith that says that there is no Mahdi except Isa bin Maryam. This hadith is fabricated or very ‘daaeef/very weak. However, he never claimed to be the Mahdi.
b. Umar bin Abdul Aziz: He came during a time when there were evil and bad khalifas before him and after him. He was a mercy to the Ummah, so people thought he must be the Mahdi. However, it was discovered that he is a Mahdi, but not the one that prophet rasulullah spoke of.
Has the Mahdi been born yet?
Claim A: Shias claim that Mahdi has been born already. For example, Khomenini claims that sometimes he comes out of his cave, and only few people are allowed to meet with him. Mahdi of the shia is someone that the shias believe in, in fact, in the books of the shia, Al-Kafi (it is equivalent to the Bukhari). It states his attributes like the Mahdi will be aided by the Jews, he will speak Hebrew, it is why the oolema of sunnah believe that the Mahdi of the shia is the Al-dajjal. He is not the proper Mahdi, because if you compare the attributes of Mahdi from the Sunnah to the Shia, you will find that Mahdi of the Shia will be the Dajjal.
What three events will take place, just before coming of the Mahdi?
1. There will be a peace treaty between the Muslims and the Christians. All Christian states today are in a peace treaty with the Muslims. This hadith/event has already has come true.
2. After this peace treaty will come the war of wars. The Armageddon that all the scriptures have talked about. The war of wars: the mother of all battles. The authentic sources from the hadith tell us that the Christians will join forces together with Muslims to fight a common enemy. This Armageddon is Muslims and Christians fighting against a common enemy. Who is this common enemy? Allah knows best. This Armageddon will take place in the land of Palestine. Are they the Jews? Allah knows best, because we don’t know. This battle will last for four days: The number of Christians will have 80 standards/flag. Under each stand will be 12,000 men. Approximately one million Christian men (Romans). The only way this can happen through the United Nations, the pre-emptive strike. After four days of war, the Muslims will win, and not the Christians. Because the Christians/Romans have lost, they will out of jealously attack the Muslims. This duration will take nine months. It is in this time that 3 of the children of the Khalifa in Arabia will be fighting over the throne, at that time the Mahdi will emerge, and the people will give Bayaat to him, and the army will come from Damascus to fight him and they will be swallowed by the Earth. It in this time, in between the Romans and the Muslims will fight that the Mahdi will emerge.
3. What are the authentic characteristics of Mahdi? In research there are 25. His name is similar to the prophet Muhammad SW, which is true because his name is Muhammad. His father’s name is same is the same as prophets’ father’s name, which is Abdullah. He will be from the family of Rasul (SW), he will be from the progeny of Fatima and Al-Hassan. The mother’s name will not be Amina. His head will be prominent, and a long pointed nose with a crooked edge in the middle. Allah Subhan o’ wa’tallah will prepare him in one night (will forgive him one night or one hour). This means that initially, Mahdi will not agree that he is the Mahdi. The oolema will say that he is the Mahdi and he should take the Khilafa, but he will not accept it, but Allah will change his heart in one night, and he will agree to take the kheelafat. Before his arrival, the earth will be filled with transgression and zun. After the coming of the Mahdi, the earth will be filled with goodness and justice. He will given bayat maqam al-Ibrahim, and ruqm yamani. He will rule for 7 years. After he dies, Muslims will bury him. He will come just before the last major signs of the hour. The coming of the Mahdi is not a major sign of coming of the hour. The Mahdi will bring global changes. He is from the lesser signs of the hour. In fact, his coming is the last of lesser signs of the hour. After that, the major signs will come in quick succession (Dajjal will come straight away, Isa will come straight away, Gog and Magog will come straight away, the sun will rise from the west, the beast of Kaa’ba will come out). It may be that all these things might happen in a length of one day, (according to one hadith), but Allah knows best. An army with black standards will come from the direction of Khursan and Mahdi will be with them. The rain will be plentiful, there will be lots of crops in the land. The number of livestock. The ummah will be strong and the Mahdi will win every single war that he fights. SubhanAllah. Rome will be conquered by the Mahdi when the Romans are larger in numbers than the Muslims. Three sons of the Khalifa will fight over the throne. He will give money correctly and plenty and will not ask back for any. The dajjal will come in his time and will corner him in Damascus, and this will happen after the Muslims have won the war with the Christians. Isa (AS) will come and pray behind the Mahdi, and kill the Dajjal, and Ya jooj and Ma’jooj will come out as well. A hadith narrates that the last hour will not come, until the 12 righty guided Khalifs rule over the Ummah. Allah knows best if they have come already. An army of Muslims that will come to attack him will be swallowed by the Earth. He will be of 52 years age. The Armageddon will take place just before his time. These are the 25 authentic attributes of Mahdi that have been found in hadith of Prophet PBUH.
What happens when the Mahdi will be here?
The Mahdi will fight five wars. The first one he won’t even fight. An army of Muslims coming from Damascus will try to kill him, and while going towards Medina, there will be a huge desert al-baydah (clear, white sand desert), they will get swallowed by the earth. This is the only sure sign of the Mahdi. In fact, it is narrated that, even if Mahdi were to pass by in front your house, one should not join him in the army until this event has finished taking place. After this event, people will congregate around him. Then join him in the army. If someone ever claims to be the Mahdi then put him in a Looney-bean (means hospital in Australia). Sure Sign: look for army that gets swallowed up by the earth in a desert called al-baydah.
After this event, the khalifs, scholars will declare him as the Mahdi, first he will deny, but then Allah in one night will cure his rejection (accept the ‘bayaa”).
1. First battle, he will conquer Arabia. This is because the Arabians don’t want him to be the Mahdi. This is politics. This is because Arabians don’t want to lose their peninsula. It is like politics. 2. The Mahdi will take over Arabia. A hadith narrates that “the hour will not come until you take over the land of the Arabs (which is the Arabian Peninsula)”. 3. Then afterwards, he will fight the “furs”, Iran, maybe Shia’s, Allah knows best. 4. After Iran, he will fight the Romans, and Allah will give you victory. This battle is to be taken at Amaq and Dabigh which are between Syria and Ankara, Turkey. The forces will gather in Syria afterwards and Muslims believe that this will definitely happen. Mahdi will send best of his warriors to this battle and Banu Ishaq (from a group Banu Ishaq-ul-salun of from Christian army that will join the Muslims) The reason for this battle will be that Christians will say we don’t want to fight you Muslims, but only this group that has left us. The Muslims will say that we will never leave our brothers. The battle will start when a man from the Christians will say, “We have won”, and a Muslim soldier will kill him. The battle will last 7 days. It will be so intense that a bird flying will not be able to pass except being shot down. This battle will be the greatest battle the world has known. And during the battle 1/3 of the Muslims will run away, and they are the traitors, the munafiqeen, and Allah will never forgive them. Then a 1/3 will die, they are best of the suhada. 1/3 will win over the Romans. 5. Then you will fight the Dajjal and Allah will give you victory. After Muslims have won over the Romans, an angle will come to Mahdi and tell him that the Dajjal has come. At that time, the Mahdi will send 10 of the most ferocious Muslim warriors. The prophet hadith narrates that “Wall’lahi, I know their colors, names, face and height and everything about them.” When Mahdi is going to fight the Dajjal, he will be cornered in Damascus, at which time Isa bin Maryam will come down and Mahdi will lead him in prayer and then Isa will take care of the Dajjal, alhumdulillah.
Points to be noted: a. Mahdi will never call him the Mahdi, nor call others to “Mahdiship”/Mahdawiyah. He will stay away from it. b. believing that a particular person is a Mahdi not from the Shahadah. If a Muslim doesn’t believe that the Mahdi is not a Mahdi, then he is still a Muslim, it is not matter of risalat. So, you’re still a Muslims if you don’t believe that the Mahdi is the Mahdi. c. We don’t need to know who the Mahdi is. We should already be fighting for Islam and we should already be struggling for this religion. We should be already working towards projects for the up liftment for Islam in UK and in the world. We don’t need to know who the Mahdi is. d. It is not permissible to say when the Mahdi is definitely coming. Because the Mahdi will come right before the definite signs of the hour/day of Judgment. To say that you know when the Mahdi is coming is transgression upon the knowledge of Allah. It is knowledge that prophet has kept away from us, and knowledge that Qur’an and Sunnah has kept quiet from us. So, to say that Mahdi has been born, he is alive now, he is doing tawaf, I saw him there are just lies and cannot be true.
In conclusion, we say that we hope that Allah brings the coming of the Mahdi close. The message today is that we should stop the coming of the Mahdi. We should prevent the coming of the Mahdi. What am I saying? We know that he will not come until the Earth is filled them transgression and zun. The only thing that we need to do for this to happen is for us to sit back and do nothing. Edmin Burke said, the only essential thing for evil to prevail in this world, is for righteous men to do nothing. It is when good men do nothing, brothers and sisters in Islam that is when evil will prevail and do something and please stop the Mahdi from coming.
