i know you are trying to lead me to the answer by questioning me, Momin khaana and I appreciate that a LOT wrora.. trust me.
But this topic is not about creating an Islamic state.. so I really don't know where all the schools of thoughts and interpretations and Khaleefas come in at this point.. =/

Khilafat is NOT about ONE Islamic state--not at all. That is the biggest misunderstanding.

Your ideas are very good, and I agree with the crux of the matter you are addressing; however, Muslims will never come together--unless it is under a Divine Khilafat.

It only happened once since the election of Hadhrat Abu Bakr (ra) that Muslims got together: in 1974. It actually fulfilled a hadith; and ever since they have not come together.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

But this is not about Khalifaat and *many* Islamic states either =(
I was just trying to get a point across as to how to live your life in 'exile' as a Muslim in, say, Europe or America.. I wasn't advocating one or many Islamic states nor was I touching on the different schools of thought or some uniformization of Muslims all over the world; we're too diverse to be uniform.I was rather referring to life in the contemporary world in which we have to take many more aspects into account such as identification with the country you live in, racial profiling, discrimination, sensationalism in the media, Islamophobia.

You are 100% correct that this is the key to Muslims being in peace.

True peace within Muslims will come to materialize when they recognize this. Yet, this can only happen when the brainwashing and hatred against the West by illiterate scholars stop. And the only way for this to stop is when they recognize the message from Allah.

Dearest sister, what do you think happened after 9/11 among the Muslim scholars?

Back to basics, fundamentalism, desperate attempts to justify one's mere and basic existence, anxiety and inferiority complexes, pursuit of knowledge to stand up to attacks from non-Muslims...

Many people became aware of themselves as Muslims and studied Islam more in depth.. became more pious. Many people became curious about Islam and studied it and converted. I saw much more Hijabs and sunnah-beard after 9/11 than before. =)

Perhaps, I don't have the statistics for that, however, among the "scholars" their concept of jihad changed and it is still being adjusted.

Allah, will bring the ummah together by hook or by crook.
