A Prophetic hadith (tradition) makes the following statement: "The Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims are safe. The emigrant is one who abandons those things God has prohibited"

The Prophet said that Islam is based on five principles: To bear witness that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger; to keep up prayers; to pay the poor-rate; to perform pilgrimage (to Ka'ba); and to keep fasting the month of Ramadan.

the true muslim is he who does not hurt other Muslims either with his hands or his tongue.

The Prophet once was asked: "What is the excellent Islam?" He replied: "When you feed the needy and greet whomsoever you know or know not".
    (Al-Bukhari).

Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah ." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]." [ Ali-Imran: 64 ]
And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims." [Fussilat: 33]
And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. Allah named you "Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give zakah and hold fast to Allah . He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper. [Al-Haj: 78]
And Moses said, "O my people, if you have believed in Allah , then rely upon Him, if you should be Muslims." [ Yunus: 84]
And [remember] when I inspired to the disciples, "Believe in Me and in My messenger Jesus." They said, "We have believed, so bear witness that indeed we are Muslims [in submission to Allah ]." [Al-Ma'idah: 111]
But as you asked for the minimum reqiurements of a Muslim, I think the first verse (Ali-Imran: 64) has the key answer, since it points to the word that is equitable between different people of the Scripture. These requirements (as johan.i.zahri mentioned) are:
      • Worshiping just and just Allah
      • Not associating anything with him (Renounce Shirk)
      • Not taking one another as lords instead of Allah

So it could mean that Quran even calls Christians and Jews, 'Muslim'. Then how can we call some muslims, 'non Muslim'?
      http://islam.stackexchange.com/quest...the-holy-quran
yes, and giving the power to rule to other than Allah also constitutes as shirk as Allah says

and he does not share (the word is yushrik) his legislation with anyone.

      This is in Surah Kahf

      or when Allah says

And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the disbelievers. - surah maidah

So giving the legislation to anyone other than Allah constitutes as shirk.

by the way, i'm not making takfir i'm stating that whoever does want legislators in the matters of religion other than Allah than that is a form of shirk which is supported by the Quran and Sunnah. There are more ayaat but that is for a separate thread.

A Muslim is one who believes in the kalima.

        From Takfir - Anathematizing:

A man said to Ibn `Umar: "I have a neighbor who bears witness against me that I commit shirk." He replied: "Say: 'La Ilaha illAllah,' you will make him a liar."

This narration does not warrant anyone to commit shirk left and right and just say a few magical words and still remain Muslim.

The shahadah requires to believe in it to act upon it as it suppose to be.

One cannot become a Muslim without fully understanding the meaning and implications of the sahahada.

Sufis declare Qadyanis to be kafirs because they believe in another Messenger besides Muhammad sal allahu alayhi wasalam. But when someone believes in another deity besides Allah, you do not consider that disbelief.

This is why the Sufi understanding of Islam is pure misguidance and illogical.

            Worshipping Allah: http://www.pashtunforums.com/showthread.php?t=39135

Not associating anything with him: Four rules regarding Shirk

You believe in secularism, which means you have taken your own desires and other people as lords besides Allah. You believe that the verses of Quran speaking about legislation, governance and general law are irrelevant.

You believe that the Sunnah is no source of legislation.

Likewise there are many other kufriyaat you have posted here since 2010 which only affirms that you are in fact a Murtad. You are outside the fold of Islam due to your own statements and your hostility with Shariah and your Love for secularism and kufar.

Thats why, doubting your disbelief is by itself disbelief. Because when someones disbelief becomes apparent, every Muslim is required to make takfeer or at least accept that a person in your condition can no longer be Muslim.

The one who still remains believing that even if you disbelieve in the above mentioned and you are still a Muslim is either not a Muslim or maybe an apostate.

Islam is not an ethnicity or a culture. It has laws, regulations, and principles.

A few magical words? SubhanAllah! La ilaha illallah.

When you consider it as a password to allow mushrikeen and murtadeen to ramain the status of Islam, you are indeed treating it like a Magical word.
