American Muslims eat Haram Meat?

I hear from a number of people from America like Arshad Irshad and others who claim that meat at the supermarket or butchers slaughtered by non Muslims is permissible to eat.

They say that since America is a Christian nation their food is permissible for us to eat.

There is certainly truth in what they claim. We as muslims are allowed to eat meat slaughtered by jews and christians.

But the question I would like to ask is: how do you know that the person who slaughtered theanimal really is a Christian? There are millions of atheists, agnostics and other non-Christians who are living in America. How do you know that the meat used at the McDonalds eeally is slaughtered by Christians?

The thing is is that in Europe we have similar composition of Christians and non- Christians.

Yet all practicing Muslims buy their meat at an Islamic shop or choose not to eat meat at all if there isnt any.

What is even more astonishing is that Arshad Irshad was in Holland and he issued a fatwa saying the food at McDonalds is halal. So now he is telling us here to follow his way.

This raises a few questions:

1 are there any trustworthy and reliable slaughterhouses catering for the Muslims in USA?

2 is there a concensus among Muslim scholars in America regarding this matter?

Muslims aside, Afghans themselves own poultry companies, and there are a bunch of slaughterhouses catering for Muslims.

There are people that say the same thing here, some listen do them and others don't. The ones that listen to them would eat the non halal meat anyways, they just like to justify it if you ask them about it.
The halal meat is sold by muslim shops and they buy it from muslim slaughter houses owned by muslims. Also the Kosher meat that is sold here is reliable and that meat is comes from jewish slaughterhouses who adhere to the traditional jewish customs. but the Christians here don't adhere to the traditional Christian customs. Most slaughterhouses that Mcdonalds buy their meat from slaughter according to commercial rules. The animals are kept in caged quarters for their entire life and are pumped with steroids and hormones that make them bigger quicker and most are killed with an air gun to the head. Everything is done in a very inhuman way. The purpose is to cheapen the meat, to make it affordable and available while at the same time its making it unhealthy where doctors are advising to stay away from red meat.

there are no laws that prohibit. There are muslim certification agencies that give their approval or disapproval. For example there are certain ones that are of the opinion that its OK for machines to slaughter chickens as long as there is someone that says the prayer and other ones that are of the opinion that's its OK to play a recording of the prayer over a loud speaker, sometimes animals are stunned before slaughtering.
Recently, consumer-protection laws have passed where halal retailer stores and slaughterhouses are required to fill out a detailed questionnaire regarding everything from the food’s alcohol content to whether the animal was stunned before slaughtering. The survey results are posted for public view.

Where I live, there is not a big Pashtun community, so we take turns going to the farm and do it ourselves. Whenever I go there, I see a lot of Muslim and Christian Africans that slaughter it themselves but hardly any Arab or Paksitani/Indian Muslims even though there is a big Arab and South Asian community. there are a lot of funny people, recently on a visit to Chicago, I went into a Pakistani restaurant and asked if the meat was halal, and the host said yes but when I looked at the menu, they served liquor, I asked the host about it and his reply was that's for people that want it. hypocrisy for the sake of making a few extra dollars.

Well, I have heard Muslims in the west will travel for miles to buy the Halal meat and then on their way back they will also pick up some champagne bottles. :P

We have muslim halal meat inspections. There are different groups amongst them. Some are very corruptand misguided. They label everything as halal meat.

It is getting extremely difficult to find good halal meat. Especially since we have the animals party in parliament. They specifically target muslims and jews with their new policies.

We no longer have halal chicken in holland because of the animal party. We have import it from belgium.

Why don't you guys just buy a living chicken or goat/sheep and slaughter it yourself? Remember, like we did it back in the good old days.

Actually the vast majority of the halal slaughterhouses are owned by non arabs(in the states anyways.) Well, doctors and scientists also have different opinions, in Italy doctors and scientists say that GMO foods are no good while the doctors in the US say there is nothing wrong with it. They have different opinions regarding everything from greenhouse gases and pollution to what you eat.

As you are swine eater, you should know that there are doctors who recommend to stay away from pork products because of the digestive system of the pig while others say its OK. Do you believe that doctors are some super humans who cant disagree on things or are they human and disagree like other humans. Sober up before you answer.
