  • Why carnt the Ummah be ONE again!

You hear people say Oh the ummah should be one again, which will stop all oppression towards muslims... but then you hear them talking about other muslims from other races badly. Why is it that we have allowed people to divide us up to the point that we have no REAL power. YES, everyone has pride of who they are, their race, nationality, but Race isnt above islam.

I just want to hear peoples opinions on this subject, especially from those who dislike another race to see what the reason is.

(From my username you can see im not pakhtun.. and i'm not here to imply that pakhtuns dislike other races.. a lot of my friends are pakhtun and so is my cousins wife.. i'm going to different forums asking different people the same question to see what the reply is and to make people think.. that it doesnt all come down to race.)

There are 7 billion people on the planet. We are the descendants of the same two adults (Adam & Eve); so for a start we should look out for our collective human interests.

The Muslim Ummah is reportedly 1/7th of humanity (1 billion) and so variations in interpretations are to be expected. If you were to focus on a region - Pakistan - as an example, you will find that even there there is no common 'approach' to Islam and what it is to be a Muslim. The urban middle-class in the Punjab understand religion as something very different to a villager who relies on a local interpretation. If Pakistan is (arguably) comparable to India - do Indian and Pakistani Muslims think alike on all matters?

Contrast that with Muslims sitting in the west and Muslims sitting in Saudi and Muslims sitting in Central Asia, or Africa etc. And we are not even talking about the Shia/Sunni split or the various splits within those groups because even within those demographics there are varying levels of education, different Islamic traditions, languages of transmission, external cultural influences and so on.

The Ummah is an ideal, but it also begs the question about starting points. Are you a Muslim first and all else second/third/fourth etc? Or are you an American first etc. If you are a Muslim first then what sect of Muslim should you need to be to realise your collective Ummah and if the state under which you live behaves in a manner that is contradictory to your faith, are you at fault for continuing to live there or should you actively attempt to dismantle the state for your preferred version of governance?

there are lots of reasons to be honest, first of all who is really following Islam? like 2% of the muslim population at the most, most muslims are Muslims by name only

also one thing I have noticed about muslim countries is that there is lots of ethnic nationalism almost in every muslim country, when you have ethnic nationalism how can you be united with other people of different cultures? you will always think you are better than everybody.

Then of course there are so many reasons like poverty, lack of education etc..... almost every negative thing in the muslim world contributes to lack of unity among muslims

Islam, has been corrupted just like all other world religions. Honestly speaking, why does a Muslim deserve paradise over other humans? A non-Muslim theist like Thomas Jefferson will burn in hell while some jolly ol regular selfish Muslim be rewarded? That doesn't make sense.

^ not really to be honest, even in the quran it says "Allahs knows best" about everything

Humans can never say anything about Allah and his judgment.

Unfortunately today many muslims just love to label everybody as kaffir. Vast majority of muslims today dont reflect Islam, again who is really following Islam in it's full contexts? probably very very few people, they are not even visible

And how exactly has Islam been corrupted? Other than Islamic militant groups like al Qaida and the Taliban who interpret and misquote the Quran are giving Islam a bad name. Also if a person knew that Islam was the true religon but didn't convert in his lifetime, then he will go to hell. However if people are aware of Islam but had done good deeds in their life, then they might be granted a spot in paradise.

Like the Hadith says only one sect in Judaism, Christianity and Islam will be rewarded paradise. That is a small number adding up all the special people who compromise those groups.

That is why Islam has been corrupted, confirmed by the Prophet PBUH. Just because you happened to be born Muslim, pray and fast here and there, you won't be automatically granted heaven.

Muslims pray all the time, but quick to cast judgement on others. Doing the latter, washes up all those rakahs.

For the billions of Muslims, Islam is just a culture; when in reality, it's a philosophical state of mind.

^ and not all Hadiths are reliable. Most of them
                  Are written by corrupt mullahs.

i think there is a mention in quran or hadith that there there will be hundreds of factions in the ummah. i believe it is a matter of interpretation of islam that leads to factions forming. as we progress, we think we have better interpretation of the quran. just consider the quranists, they have their own interpretation of islam despite over a millenia of academic development on interpretation of the quran. even if we consider unreliable hadeeth, these are again someone's interpretation. eg shia accept some that sunni reject vis temporary marraiges.
                    its chaotic/entropic.

You jus answered your first question to me, my son.

That particular Hadith is from Sahih Al-Bukhari, and is considered reliable by scholars of your own faith.

How would corrupt mullahs rewrite hadiths? Bukhari wrote down narrations from the sayings of the Prophet, which the descendants of the companions past down from generation to generation.

                      Original thread starter,

When was Islam ever united under one ummah? Maybe during the Prophet PBUH time. But the day he died, the ummah split and never united again. A lot of people felt Abu Bakr stole th Khalifah from its true heir, Ali Ibn Abi Talib. Don't forget the battle between Ali and the Prophet's wife Aisha. And not to mention the split with Muawiya and Yazid Vs Ali

Its not about the races, becuse peopel in Pakistan are actualy from Indian race, except the Pashtuns and the Baluch, I don't hate Indian race but I hate the hypocrite country of Pakistan, that country is like Israel it needs to be destroyed.
And that's the reason why we can't unite, and not to forget Iran is Shia.

This is why... when the so called scholars of Islam are sell outs <MNA Sheikh Waqas speech against Sipah Sahaba Lantee Mullas - YouTube> Great speech by a Punjabi against mullahs.... many more like this by true muslims but this is recent against the Quetta carnage by a musalmaan that yet any mf mullah will speak up against....

When we have lost all humanity... it does not matter if you are a muslim or not... Our Holy Prophet(PBUH) was declared Amin and Sadiq long before prophethood was granted upon him.....

I personally doubt that the sell out muslims moulanas of today who are less then animals will ever be blessed with the smell of heaven let alone enter it... that is just me... animals have no heaven...

United Muslim Umma never existed. The day prophet died there was a fight on power between Mecca group and Madina group. Umma is a political concept. As Islam is only a religion thus we may not expect political unity from the 58 Muslim nations of the world. This will be totally asking for an utopia. The real success of Islam is as a religion not as a political or international system enshrined in the concept of Umma.

Muslims are not a race or a nation. They are partners in religion of Islam. Even in the religion Islam there are schools of thought and sects but it is natural. There is unity in diversity. If we are tolerant to each other, sects or schools make no difference rather it is beneficial for growth and creativity.
