Bismillah, alhamdulillah, all praises due to Allah and may Allah increase the honor of Prophet Muhammad and protect our nation from any harm. -
I was told by an American Muslim that some sects, Shia I think, that while there isn't racial discrimination, the descendents of the Prophet Muhammad were a 'favored' group. Islam's greatest scholars and leaders would never come from outside of this group, or tribe, I forget which. Is there any basis to this? Is it a common belief anywhere?
