Sister, Why don't you wear the Hijab?

Hijab is the most effective tool in the hands of men to imprison women and keep them limited to their homes and restrict them within the four walls. Muslim men are well aware that their dominance will go away if women also participate in all economic, social and political activities like men. This is a chain, fetters in the legs of the women.
Hijab is a conspiracy against women. Women must be well aware that they are being exploited in the name of hijab. Be full human beings not like sacks or shrouded corpses. Live life fully. Islam is your belief, worship and morality not your culture or dress. Determining factors for dress are occasion, climate, weather and place not religion.

Your Mom and many women in countries like Iran are exceptions. In Pashtuns and countries like Saudi even face is part of Hijab. How can one drive, walk, run, study, move around, travel, ride, doing tough works like engineering, surgery , teaching etc with a covered face? Women with hijab cannot enjoy natural beauty, beaches, mountains, parks etc. Hijab restrict their movement and free movement is a fundamental human right. Extremists do not allow journey of a woman if she is alone.
This is why literacy rate according to some estimates in Pashtun women is less that 30% and university education may be even less than 10%. How many Pashtun women you know as scientists, engineers or sports persons.
be confident of your women. With open face or with no hijab no body can touch them if they are really guardians of their honour otherwise 100 curtains of cloth cannot serve as guarantee for the modesty or safety of a women.

ok if there are exceptions it means your hypothesis is wrong. because your hypothesis does not cover all cases. which means that hijab does not have to do with female repression in Muslim societies
also my mom is not Pashtun, so maybe the problem is Pashtun culture, not Hijab. Because my dad's side of the family are Pashtun, and they say Kuchi girls do not wear hijab, but they're very backwards and illiterate.Last edited by RevolutionThroughReason; 11-23-2012, 04:17 PM.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
knowledge or education is not immune to headscarves. Badlun, you tend to bs a lot. I don't see much difference between you and Arab men who believe that the ability to drive will lead women astray.
It would be much appreciated if the likes of you focused on expanding your own pea sized mentalities before moving in to liberating the rest of us.
Be offended, please.

One thing I realized after debating and discussing with you Badlun/Osho, is you actually don't know anything, you make stuff up without checking your facts. For someone who stresses education, ...how come you do not seek to be educated on topics before speaking on them?
And you know I am not even advocate of hijab, I think women should wear whatever she wants within reasons of standard decency. But the stuff you say is ridiculous and ignorant.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
You are wrong here... Who will judge one's character... Remember this is a legal issue. When you implement a law you don't assume that it should be strict for mr A because he is not good and it should be soft for mr B because he has a good character. When a traffic law is implemented it the same for all drives whether mr A is good or bad even if the chances of accident by mr A is nill, even then law is 100% implemented on him.Originally posted by Karachi View PostHijab or no Hijab, it depends on ones individual's character. Hijab is not a magic stick which will automatically make you into a good person, people like this guy in the video really need to understand this simple thing.
So it is a law, an instruction for all Muslim women and men to be in hijab and a they have been told how to do hijab. This hijab is not just mentioned in the religion of Islam but also in Christianity, Judiasm, Hinduism and all other religions. So its not just Islam's issue, but it is a way to prevent women and men from doing any harm to themselves. Overall it has a strong affect on women, ask the reverts, they will give you a clear answer, how they feel after taking the hijab.

haha the choice to wear hijab or not is the same as traffic laws, there is no right in Qur'an or Sunnah to enforce hijab. Even the women in Makkah used to go topless with breast uncovered during Zaman Al-Rasul, and only thing they could do is advise them. That's ALL just advise, no enforcement at ALL.
The traffic laws are there to protect the society, hijab is for the individuals benefit. So what an individual chooses is up to them and God will deal with it.

Well hijab is not just covering head or face... Its meaning is wide. And we know you are against Islamic political system so your words don't count here.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View Posthaha the choice to wear hijab or not is the same as traffic laws, there is no right in Qur'an or Sunnah to enforce hijab. Unfortunately the secular laws are implemented and advocated by everyone but when it comes to Islamic laws then everyone starts making excuses of calling it personal issue and this and that.
The west talks about physical harm and then starts making laws about which is a good thing but Islam looks at both the physical and spiritual harms.
When it comes to spiritual matters, we call it personal issues. Why this hypocrisy... ???

Why don't they count? aren't facts always true no matter who says them?
're c
You want to impose Taliban interpretation which is not consistent with the daleel of the Sunnah or Scholars. The things you're calling secular laws DEAL with the welfare of EVERYONE, Traffic Laws HELP EVERYONE around them. They protect people from accidents where they lose lives. tHe Hijab only protects the individual. No one else is harmed if she doesn't wear hijab. This is according to Shari'ah and Logic itself.
You have an agenda, therefore it is your words that don't count.
More evidence from Islam so that ignorant people like yourself can know what the Evidences in Islam actually teach
Translation:
What normally appears of the slave woman, like the head, the hands up to the elbows, and the feet up to the knees, it is not 'awrah, because 'Umar, radhiyallahu 'anhu, forbade the slave woman from covering her head (at-taqannu') and imitating the free women.
Al-Qadhi said in "al-Jami'" that everything besides that (i.e. what is mentioned above) is 'awrah, because it is usually not exposed, similar to what is beneath the navel.
Ibn Hamid said that her 'awrah is the same as the 'awrah of the man, because of what is narrated by 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa-sallam, said: "When one of you marries off his slave woman to his slave or hireling, let him not look at anything of her 'awrah, for whatever is below the navel until the knees is 'awrah." He meant the 'awrah of the slave woman. Narrated by ad-Daraqutni. And because whoever's head is not 'awrah, then their chest is not 'awrah...
And it is also narrated from him (i.e. al-Imam Ahmad) that she is like the free woman in that respect. (End of quote.)
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
How can you speak for other women or women in general???? who told you women with hijab cannot enjoy....(ur enjoy factors is only applicable to you)...and it restricts what????...you are generalizing to the extremes..who told you hijabi women will allow your extremist to shape their life???
well!! pashtuns women in recent times have low literacy rate well cz helloooowww they seemingly live is a war zone...and then some had to flee their residences..such as my parents..and then had to start all over again(TINGGG)...you need to do more research before you start assuming things about pashtun women or women in general...perhaps there are pashtun women who are literate but they chose to take care of their family rather than go earn bread(their choice) .....oh and my mor taught me how to read and write..well she couldn't complete her education(not cz she was a hijabi or was behind curtains..she had to flee and help her husband to start a new life in a new country).ah!!!few exceptions...lol so you're telling us all these women(no offense) without hijab say who barely cover themselves are better and that they are all doctors/engineers/teachers and that they are IDEAL WOMEN!!!!!
LMAO so you think the goal of a pashtun women or any women in general is that they want to be "touched" wwwww...WAKE UP..and who told you living behind curtains(as if they do) is cz they want to guard their modesty(what a vague statement)
I am a scientist in the making and I am a pashtana..and I am free and I enjoy life and I am proud to be covered from head to toe..its my liberation no one forced me duh!!!
hmm hijjabi liberator perhaps you should join HIJAB 101 women 101 and 101 of everything...
bottom line HIJAB IS NOT a coerce it s a choice an individual choice and you cannot generalize..bad habit smh
