Buddhism is really an interesting religion which does not believe in God. This godless religion has metaphysics and some beliefs in supernatural phenomenon especially nirvana but it can't be dubbed as a religion in the pure sense of the world.
Secular morality can also be found in philosophy but if the so called religion asks for secular morality then it is more appealing and interesting.

i consider beliefs about god and the creation theory with a set of rules and regulations around it, a religion.

scientist who still think that creation is a mere, 'survival of the fittest' cannot make a claim to ethics from science.

anyone alive today, will have some indoctrination from their upbringing which has religious intonations. even atheists. so when do we know the separation of ethics by science or ethics by conditioning?

it is funny that the dalai lama calls for tolerance of religions. i once saw an interview where he got angry because christians were influencing tibetan buddhists, who were converting to christianity. he more or less said, the christians should keep out of the affairs of these tibetan buddhists. yet his own religion is now all around the world, with lamas preaching tibetan buddhism.
they were planning to build a giant buddha statue in bodh gaya, india, after the taliban ruined the rock carving in afghanistan. i know bodh gaya and the idea of a giant buddha statue in that beautiful place sounded gross, to me. hopefully, it never happened.
i even met an israeli tibetan buddhist monk, in the red robes.

so when is he going to drop his religious title?
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

the dalai lama is also the leader of the tibetan people and has been working for the freedom of tibetans from the chinese oppressors.
i admire his capacity to retain an open mind to new knowledge.
at least he is not advocating 6th century barbarianism of beheading people for blasphemy.

true true ...I'd rather have someone claiming he's God than people claiming they're serving God and going around cutting their heads off.

God can handle the blasphemer but we have to handle the tyrant

They are greatly drawn...as people were surprised by Usama's whereabouts, they can also imagine that mullah omar is among them....maybe sitting in a cafè in Kabul directing operations....or disguised as a begger.
