  • Islam and Alcohol ?

I would like to ask, how does Islam see exactly the consuption of Alcohol?
As I know Alcohol is not welcomed in Islam.
But does it state the reason why or is it simply said "don't drink it"?
Also the most important to ask, some milk fermented products, specially from horse and camel milk contain quiet high alcohol percentuals, however they are mostly consumed by peoples who say being Muslim, so is the concept of Alcohol referd on percentuals of alcohol that make a psychological effect. or generally on alcohol itself?

    Thank You!

    Alcohol cause intoxication,which is forbidden.
    Everything that intoxicate is forbidden.

Everything which does not have naturally alcohol or the quantity whether alittel or huge cause inoxication is again forbidden.

There are no rules on the percentage of alcohol rather the effects.

Why Alcohol is forbidden (HARAM) in Islam? Dr Zakir Naik - YouTube

Please, can I reformulate your sentence, my English isn't perhaps the best, so I got a bit difficulties with Your exacct answer.
Please try to answer by points.
      Alcohol is prohibites? Yes!
You use products containing natural alcohol? As I understood yes, because the percentuage is very low and it has no effect on consciousness?
Is the prohibition related to altered consciousness rather than alcohol content? As I understood You it is exactly like that.
As long as something containing alcohol does not alter consciousness it is possible to consume?!As I understood , yes?!

Please correct me if I missunderstood You!

Not just Alcohol everything that damages the human body is not allowed, for example cigarettes

As a chemist, i look at something sweet which has for example Glucose, which has actually many (OH-groups) which are the sign of an alcohol...as seen here

yet they do not have any effect on your conciousness excatly, therefore it is not forbidden in Islam.

Sometimes chemists use to split something alcohol and it formes a new chemical in a substance, for example incasesof some chocolates and sweets, yet this alcohol has no further intoxication.

As it does not intoxicate whether small quantities or large quantities.

The quran does not specifically mention alcohol rather it says to avoid intoxication. anything that has sugar potentially has alcohol so alcohol itself is not forbidden because everyone potentially consumes it everyday, but alcoholic drinks that impair judgement is to be avoided. The quaran advises people to be coherent at all times and to be able to make decisions with good judgement.

Well with Alcohol we mean surely Ethyl-alcohol, not polyalcohols.
Vut any thing in large quantities intoxicates, sugar does too, look on type II diabetes and obesity.

I am glad abou that - that You see accent on "Intoxification" and not on the "material that could do that".
When sense prevails the material it is really highest sience and faith, unfortunately I met many people who did explain it in a far more primitive way, i could not agree upon, while with how You say it both I agree 100% as is same in my faith, even if we accentise the question a bit in an other way - but the sense is common.
              Thank You!

We have had discussion among people of knowledge, excluding me,but i was sitting among them some differed about the Issue of drinks, like some kinds of colas or other such drinks are made with the help of alcohol and whether it should be allowed or not,of course i agree it is allowed, but some extrem viewers were against it,and said it is like drinking soft alcohol.

When the beloved sheikh khalid (may Allah have blessings upon him) was with another sheikh who is a later convert and has some extrem views,in a market to buy some juice, the later always argued that could contain this and that this and this.....sheikh khalid said : well there is nothing we can buy here and something with what does i care if the bottle is made of what.....and similar to this i can't elaborate all the answer, but sheikh from egypt was telling this guy...you make yourself crazy.

For sure, in that case almost any organic food could contain ethanol, because it an be formed in biological processes even in our own body.

I heard one about a case(don't know if it is true), that in the USA there was a man, who had from child on some yeast living in his organism and he had from nature on such high blood alcohol like if he would be a drinker, but he himseld didn't know it untill the police stopped his car and they found a lot of alcohol.
Interesting if such a thing is really possible, they wrote it in some newspaper.

Many of those converts create fitna. They are always the extremists who preach nonsense.

Muslims may not drink alcohol but we do so many other things that harm our bodies, which clearly go against Quran. Out of the top ten most obese countries, I believe there are 4 or 5 muslims countries. Hypocrisy is in our blood
