    More questions for the Sufis:

There are many fatawa of Imaam Abu Haneefah which are close to the opinions of other schools and yet rejected by Hanafis today. For example, listening to music and enjoying it. Most Sufis today ( Hanafi sufis) not only permit music, but they even promote it. Why don't them Hanafis follow their Imaam?

What you don't understand is that Hanafi is not a just set of rulings it's a system of understanding how to derive rulings. Not every ahadith was available to Imam Abu Hanifa (ra), hence later on when new evidence was available they adjusted their views.

People for example had no idea that consuming tobacco was harmful, now we do, the natural conclusion should be to ban it because according to Islam, anything which harms the body or causes death or impairment of the faculties is banned, unless of course in necessity.

Similarly with music, there is no evidence that Imam Abu Hanifa (ra) received the ahadith regarding the presence of music during the Ethiopian Wedding, and hence his ruling was based on other ahadith.

I believe that when it comes to the issue of Taqleed and Madha'ib, we should look at things reasonably by a "middle path" approach. Of course we should focus on a Madhab, not for sentiment or blindness but because madhaa'ib have methods and approaches which have certain applications and relevance. However at the same time we should acknowledge that certain madhab have limitations on addressing certain issues. And therefore it would necessitate approaching another Madhab. Hanafiyah tends to be the most broad and encompassing Madha'ib but not always.

Shah Waliyullah's approach was to combine the madha'ib of Hanafi and Shafi'i, which would compensate the short comings within each.

This is the reason why I follow scholars of Ahlul Hadeeth rather than Hanafis. Because they combine all the evidence regarding a certain matter and then derive a ruling.

The methodology of Ahlul Hadeeth is to take from all schools that which is most strong opinion founded on sound evidence.

I'm not sufi, but inshallah I or anyone else with half the intelligence of a rock will be able to answer your fallacious and embarrassing "questions."

                    1. Most true sufis don't listen to music.

                    2. The Hanafi Ulema don't permit music, and they follow their Imam.

                    3. Why can't you ask a question worth answering?

I guess you are trying to claim they are Salafis just because they are from Kunar, and the Salafis have hijacked the name of Jihad in Kunar?

Yes, the same Salafis who fought against Hizb Islami to create their own government. The same Salafis who joined the Northern Alliance against the Taliban. The same Salafis who are a part of the Karzai government, and who had their guy appointed as governor by the Karzai government.

These guys are, by all indication, not Salafis. You can tell in their video, where they make group du`a, wipe their faces, use tasbeeh, all things Salafis have wrongly called bid`a.

At the very most, they may be panchpiris, but even that I doubt without any proof.

Most sufis not only do listen to music, in Afghanistan they are the ones who play musical instruments.

In fact, most famous songs and poems sang by famous singers in Afghanistan are in reality sufi poetry which were popularized by Sufi singers who used musical instruments to spread their beliefs.
