  • adopting a child from an islamic view

perhaps an afghan one too. what does it say? are there such agencies in afghanistan or pakistan?

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

What are you after, the Islamic ruling on it?

If so, according to my knowledge there are two types of adoptions in Islam; the prohibited and the permissible. Allah says in the Quran: Nor has He made your adopted sons your real sons (its context of revelation dates back to Zaid bin Haaritha) This merely means that one is not able to give the child his own name, or subject him to his own rulings. If you are able to give the child (whose parentage is unknown) a sound, righteous upbringing, educate him and give him a better or equal space to his previous home, where his religion is not at stake, it is permissible to do so. If this child is an orphan, then one must observe and implement the rights of orphans as prescribed in the Quran.

I plan to adopt two babies (preferably as soon as they're born) when I grow up. One son and one daughter. But if I end up having 2 sons, then I'll adopt 2 daughters; if I get 2 daughters, I'll adopt 2 sons. You get the idea.

So, Laila Jaaney, when is your family looking into adopting? I can help you only once the time comes for me, not until then But when you go to Afghanistan this summer, check around. I'm sure you'll find many agencies here and there.

Well that is why i am looking at the orphanages...our plan is to adopt a little boy or a little girl, who is an orphan. We have been planning this for nearly 5 years and when i leave inshallah, i will make sure it happens. My parents make X amount of money, and we live a very comfortable life. We have an extra spare bedroom, the day care is one block away from our house and the elementary school is at the same location.

it is very hard to adopt from afghanistan. they don't let the children leave the country. especially if u are living in a non-muslim country.

            but good luck ya all...

My family has always wanted more kids....my mom couldnt have any more kids after my sister.....so we have always wished for another brother or sister.

Plus imagine how much you can provide to a child that lacks so much: the comfort of home, food and water, education, access to medical supplies

if i wanted, i could drag one of my cousins here like my parents keep suggesting but i want a child that would look back and really appreciate what is done for him and hopefully do the same for some one else...but i have heard they don't let you take them out of the country...

It does for guardianship...in guardianship, you are not allowed to change their names, change their religious belief, etc....but since a Muslim family wants to "guardian" a Muslim child, then why not?

Unfortunately in Afghanistan you can't adopt any child, though those kids need parents and support the most.

people sell their children for a loaf of bread. through an agency not but there are other ways. surely it's not the right way to do it but in the long run it would make a huge difference.
