Vatican wants to examine 1500-year-old Bible in Turkey.
A 1500-year-old Bible that was discovered by Turkish police during an anti-smuggling operation in 2000.

The Vatican has requested that Turkey allow it to examine a 1500-year-old Bible that was discovered by Turkish police during an anti-smuggling operation in 2000 and handed over to the Ankara Ethnography Museum, the Turkish Bugün daily reported on Thursday.

The daily said the Bible is reportedly written in Aramaic, the language of Jesus, and is said to be worth TL 40 million. According to the report, the Bible was seized from a gang smuggling artifacts during a police operation in southern Turkey in 2010 and reportedly preserves its originality and many traces of the period it's from.

The gang was reportedly convicted of smuggling various items seized during the operation, including the Bible, and all the artifacts were kept in a safe in the Ankara Courthouse. The Bible, which was reportedly kept in the courthouse for years, was only recently handed over to the care of Ankara Ethnography Museum.

The leather-bound Bible is written on leather sheets and is now under protection as it is regarded as a valuable cultural asset. Even a Xerox copy of pages from the book is reported to be worth as much as TL 3-4 million.

Another Turkish daily, the Star, has claimed that it may be a copy of the much-debated Gospel of Barnabas, which Muslims claim is an original gospel that was later suppressed -- the oldest copies of this gospel date back to the 16th century and are written in Italian and Spanish. However, the Gospel of Barnabas is not included in the four gospels that currently comprise the canonical New Testament -- Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

The Gospel of Barnabas contradicts the canonical New Testament account of Jesus and his ministry, but has strong parallels with the Islamic view of Jesus. Much of its content and themes parallel Islamic ideas and it includes a prediction by Jesus of the Prophet Muhammad coming to earth.

Why they don't examine Codex Sinaiticus

    http://codexsinaiticus.org/en/

which does not have alot of the things that are in the new testament.

The Gospel of Barnabas is definitely in interesting read. It impugnes the other gospels of the New Testament: Jesus said he is no son of god and predicted Mohammad's forthcoming. Christians have shunned this Gospel as an Islamic fabrication, if it is? We won't know.

It was the First Council of Nicaea that destroyed the message of Yeshua. It was that meeting that brought them "holy trinity" and other blashphemous ideas.

Exactly which was held a hundred years after Jesus (pbuh).

I have alot of discussion with christians and many who converted to islam agreed that Bible is just a big fraud what remained.

I can refer to you the story of Lot and his daughters having incest wa'nauzubillah , is this a prophet of god if he commits such things ?...

Christians are our friends, Muslims have beat them on debates to the point of saturation. I believe we need to team up and fight the enemy which is non-religious people working to convince people that the devil doesnt exist, to brainwash our children and making us think nothing is wrong with us painting naked people.

Yeah its the kufaar who are the dangerous ones, and the vatican themselves are kufaar, it makes me wonder why they want to see this bible, maybe its been modified less by them, or even close to the original?

^ true, it's in the original language, perhaps the only bible in the original language.

From what I have read about on the net, it is very similar to Islamic teaching regarding the Jesus and may even predict the coming of prophet Muhammad(pbuh)

just go to the website of Codex Sinaiticus

                http://codexsinaiticus.org/en/

and watch through , you will yourself see that it is not the same as you see in the new testament of today its completely different, and it is reffered to as authentic found.

If this is the authentic Bible then the millenniums of Vatican's fraud, deceit, cruelty and misdeeds will be exposed. Obviously the Vatican wants to have a look at it to sabotage if authentic.

Yeah if the exposure of vatican occurs then its all over, the christians will have seen through all this deception. Which obviously cannot happen and of course it must be very similar in teachings to islam, the first few generations after Hazrat Isa alayhisalaam passed away must have been solid in their true religion and slowly it all faded away in which the teachings got corrupted.

why are we so concerned with what Christians do? If Christians were trying to impose their culture on us like in the form of Christmas and "soft imperialism" by promoting their customs amongst Muslims that is another story. If they're not leave them alone, let them believe as they want and live as they wish. we're not their keepers.

                          Should wait.

To confirm if this is 1500 years old or not. If it's 16th century, then it's likely fabricated.

If it's 1500 years old, and the contents check out, then it would be very interesting.

Though mind you, we don't need anything other than Qur'an to confirm the prophethood of the Muhammad(pbuh).

Your last point we all agree on,but this evidence just show how our christians brothers and sisters are betrayed by the church and its criminal leaders.
