Is this Hadith authentic ?

Abdullah Ibn Amr ibn al-Aas narrated that Mohammed (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said "Command your children to make salah when they become seven years old and spank them for it when they become ten years old and arrange their beds( to sleep) separately" [Abu Dawud]

so the translation is wrong but the hadith is true.

It's a Abu Dawud Hadith, so it is not "authentic".

If it appeared in Sahih Bukhari, and then again in Abu Dawud it would be considered authentic. I haven't read this Hadith in Bukhari, or Muslim.

Sunni Muslims view the Six major Hadith collections as their most important. They are, in order of authenticity [1]:

1. Sahih Bukhari, collected by Imam Bukhari (d. 870), includes 7275 ahadith
2. Sahih Muslim, collected by Muslim b. al-Hajjaj (d. 875), includes 9200 ahadith
3. Sunan al-Sughra, collected by al-Nasa'i (d. 915)
4. Sunan Abu Dawood, collected by Abu Dawood (d. 888)

The Keyword here is SUPERFICIAL, because if you understand ahadith some ahadith were said before Muhammad(saw) got the decision to or approval to make hudud. Some were before, Some were abrogrations. Some ahadith were abrogated by others. And also something not being punished does not means it was "allowed". That's absurd
