  • Ribah and homosexuality in a Secular state

Ribah is prohibited in Islam, so lets say a secular system is established in Afghanistan or any other muslim country. What authority does the church has, to impose the prohibition of Ribah, if the church is given no authority.

    Some ideas

Ribah is forbidden in Islam and had been forbidden in other abrahamic religions such as Judiasm and Christianity. However, with Judiasm they have changed the torah to allow them to collect ribah with their dealings with non-jews, but prohibited with their own jews.

Before the french revolution and the bolshevik revolution in eastern europe, Ribah was prohibited by the church through out europe, but after it... ribah became accepted, and the countries became rich.. and went to war.. took over many countries and lands. Why didn't the muslim scholars object to it back then..

In a secular state, everyone is treated equally (Doesn't matter what the majority want), this is well known from countries such as Australia and United States, where it Gay Marraige is being legislated even though.. majority of Australia is straight...

Does this mean that Ribah will become accepted even in a secular state, with majority of muslims...? then who is to say that gay marraiges, etc.. will also become accepted.. So does it all mean, that a secular state will make your imaan weak.

Also, Is pashtunwali compatible with a secular state? Will the concept of badal be legislated since majority of the population wants?

I have provided a few different ideas to help start the discussion. Please share your responses in a respectful manner without flaming. Otherwise, to the right..to the right.. press the X button.

a secular state is one with no consideration for the laws of allah. its laws are man made and based on whatever is the popular public opinion of the time.

though america has always been secular, i have more respect for american society of the early-mid 20th century than i do now. secular societies have shown to degrade in moral fiber as the years pass by.

secularism and islam do not mesh. one is based on god, the other is based on creation. we have seen how wicked people can be, now imagine them making the law.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
