  • Reading surat during prayer!

    Salam alikum
    i want to know what do you read after or in the middle of prayer like surats or do you do any abaadat, can you share it. what kind of dua do you make after prayers?
    and one another question, can you read 2 or 3 surats when in 1 rakat of prayer?

    thanks

    Yes you can read more than on surah in one rakat of prayer but you cannot combine some parts of a surah with another surah. Also it is sunnah for you to read Surah Al- Kafirun and Surah Ikhlaas in sunnah prayer in Fajr and Maghrib.

    Abu Hurairah [RA] reported:

    The Messenger of Allah [SAWS] recited in the two sunnah Rak`ah of the Fajr prayer Surah Al-Kafirun (in the first Rak`ah), and Surah Al-Ikhlas (in the second Rak`ah). [Muslim]

    Narrated Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud [RA]:

    “I cannot count how many times I heard the Messenger of Allah recite, in the two rak’at after maghrib and in the two rak’at before fajr ‘Say: O disbelievers,’ (Surah Kafiroon – 109) and ‘Say: He is Allah, the One.’ (Surah Ikhlas – 112).” [Related by Ibn Majah and At-Tirmidhi]

    Also it is good to read SUrah Bayyinah in Fajr fard salaat.

    One other tip that i didnt know before and i constantly made this mistake was that you have to recite the surahs in Namaz in chronoligical order.

    Ex: You cannot recite Surah Nas before Surah Falaq. You have to do Surah Al-Falaq first then Surah Nas.

      Mr gangster.. so you cant read more than 1 surah in one rakat?
      i thought you can..
      The surah's should be in line or que..
      you cannot recite surah al falaq first and after that the kafiron but you can go with kafiron and after that with falaq.
      I am sure that its allowded because I remember some Mullahs back home used to recite 2 surahs in one rakat.. Maybe they were wrong but...........

                This is the opinion of certain scholars. There is no prohibition from Quran and Sunnah for reciting Quran during prayer in any other order than the one recorded in the mushaf.

                Only condition is, that you do not mix up the order of ayat.

                So for example, if you start reciting the second half of Surah Naba in the first rakat, it is not permissible to recite the first part of Surah Naba in the second ayat. You must choose another surah or another part of another Surah.

                  The prophet (SAW) used to combine the pairs of the mufassal soorahs, so he used to recite one of the following pairs of soorahs in one rak'ah:
                  • ar-Rahmaan (55:78) & an-Najm (53:62);
                  • al-Qamar (54:55) & al-Haaqqah (69:52);
                  • at-Toor (52:49) & Dhaariyaat (51:60);
                  • al-Waaqi'ah (56:96) & al-Qalam (68:52);
                  • al-Ma'aarij (70:44) & an-Naazi'aat (79:46);
                  • al-Mutaffifeen (83:36) & 'Abasa (80:42);
                  • al-Muddaththir (74:56 ) & al-Muzzammil (73:20);
                  • ad-Dahr (76:31) & al-Qiyaamah (75:40);
                  • an-Naba (78:40) & al-Mursalaat (77:50);
                  • ad-Dukhaan (44:59) & at-Takweer (81:29).

                  As for Dua after the prayer there are many.

                  But there is an important Dua BEFORE giving salam and finishing the prayer.
