      The irony is that they follow the way of Wahhabism/Salafism, which is the antithesis of the way of the Salaf.

      From A Concise Sunni Glossary:
      Salaf: "The Predecessors"; a name applied to the righteous Muslims of the first three centuries of Islam.

      "Salafî":
      Properly, a strict imitator of the Salaf such as the adherents of the Four Sunnî Schools but the Salafiyya today is a misnomer referring to an anti-traditional free-thinking current spawned by the Wahhâbiyya, both patching up views from modernism, the Mu`tazila, the Zâhiriyya, and the Karrâmiyya, and both claiming to represent Ahl al-Sunna in vociferous opposition to Ash`arîs and Mâturîdîs. The "Salafîs" give themselves the names of Ahl al-Hadîth (in India and Pakistan) and Atharî (in the Gulf) while their opponents name them Hashwiyya, Mujassima, and Khawârij.

          this discussion is evidence enough of how useless the Salafist ideology has become.

          it started out a great thing, a movement to liberate Muslim minds from the emotional black mail of the LivingIslam.com ilk.....but turned into a movement that obsesses about neurotic habits.

            Salafis and Sufis divide islam, so i dont follow any of them. Both of these movements are the biggest evil with in Islam, no need to worry about outsiders destroying muslims, We have the biggest enemies with in.

              The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whatever of the izaar (lower garment) is below the ankles is in the Fire." (al-Bukhaari, no. 5787

              The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "There are three whom Allaah will not look at or praise on the Day of Judgement and theirs will be a painful punishment: the one who wears his garment below his ankles, the one who reminds others of his favours, and the one who sells his product by means of making false oaths" (reported by Muslim, no. 106)

              The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Isbaal (wearing one’s garment below the ankles) may apply to the izaar (lower garment), the shirt or the turban. Whoever allows any part of these to trail on the ground out of arrogance, Allaah will not look at him on the Day of Judgement." (reported by Abu Dawud, no. 4085, and al-Nisaa’i, no. 5334, with a saheeh isnaad).

              Ibn ‘Abbaas reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Allaah will not look at the one who wears his lower garment below his ankles." (Reported by al-Nisaa’i in al-Mujtabaa, Kitaab al-Zeenah, Baab Isbaal al-Izaar).

              Hudhayfah said: "The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) took hold of the muscle of my calf (or his calf) and said, ‘This is where the izaar should stop; if you insist, it may be lower, but it should not reach the ankles.’" (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said this is a saheeh hasan hadeeth; see Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 1783)

                  According to many fuqaha this is also applicable to trousers. Only Dhaahiriyyah do not hold this opinion.

                  Are you a Mu'tazili dhaahiri?

                      You don't have a formal Islamic education. You just read some books and decided to invent your own ideology. Therefore, you views on Islam are as good as nothing.

                          and lets be honest, neither do any of these guys; most of the Shayukh just rely on heavy guess work, honestly speaking these guys have formed a "cartel" much like the men Mujib endorses.

                          I'm not against scholarship; but I bet you, none of these Shayukh can find one single solid reference which supports the idea that "dragging clothes with pride" means "merely unostentatiously" dragging clothes, or that this rule can apply to things besides the izar.

                          The only difference between them and I in this situation is that they have a cartel of other guys who pat them on the back and place the facade of authority and I don't.

                          The Power of Reason trumps any of these retards anyways.
